Features
By providing automatic smart switching of the main signal to a back up signal, the ASI 201s offers fail-safe protection for critical ASI signal paths for broadcast or satellite applications. Constant monitoring of both primary and back up feeds means should a fault be detected in the primary input, the secondary feed will be automatically switched to the module’s output. The ASI 201s provides near-seamless switching of ASI signals by preserving the output stream’s TS packet structure during a switch, hence identical input streams would give a perfectly seamless switch. The switch can operate in two modes; automatic or non-resetting. In full automatic mode, the ASI 201s will switch back to the primary signal once it has been restored. In the non-resetting mode, the secondary input remains routed to the output, even after the primary input has recovered. The ASI 201s can also be configured for non-seamless switching if required. GPI inputs allow faults detected in upstream equipment to contribute to the switching logic. Controls are easily accessed through a Control Panel, GPIs, front edge module controls or TCP/iP.

MicroVideo FRS 300 HD/SD frame/line sync Features
The FRS 300 Synchroniser is a single eurocard size module that fits in Microvideo 1U or 3U rack mounting frames. It is designed to synchronise SD and HD Serial Digital Video signal to an analogue timing reference. The FRS 300’s ability to correct any timing problems makes it ideal for broadcast engineers who need to bring untimed HD or SD video into their system. The input video may be completely non-synchronous or may simply need a timing adjustment.
The FRS 300 provides three serial digital outputs with low output jitter. EDH is inserted into the output serial data stream and provides full frame synchronisation with adjustable horizontal, vertical and continuously variable subpixel timing.
Applications
broadcast centers production post production transmission
Block Diagram
The FRS 300 provides for up to a frame delay with respect to the SDI input. All settings are protected in the case of power failure with the primary output protected by relay bypass. All ancillary data is passed through untouched. Timing is taken from an external analogue reference and will automatically synchronise sources between 0 and 2 fields, fixing any incorrect frame rates plus any delays. Inputs, either SD or HD can be referenced to any analogue tri-level or Black Burst syncs.
The FRS 300 can be used to avoid picture disturbances for upstream switching of inputs between mistimed sources that occur in the vertical blanking.

MicroVideo SBG 300 side bar generator Features
The SBG 300 is a dedicated side bar generator which is designed for use where 4:3 feeds are transmitted in a 16:9 signal path, but the origional aspect ratio is reqiuired. For instance; sports feeds, regional traffic and weather reports (which often rely on external camera feeds). The SBG 300 can be used in conjunction with other Microvideo products such as Logo generators, to insert advertising and information into the side bars or seamless switches to switch between multiple 4:3 streams (i.e. Weather/Traffic remote feeds)
The SBG 300 has the ability to provide side bars (left, right or split left and right) and has Key and Fill inputs to use with external graphics generator.
