“Start From Zero” was founded by a Hong Kong local street artist - Dom. Later, another local artist Katol join forces.

START stands for STreet ART, STencil ART and STicker ART. The are two meanings of “Start From Zero”: 1. Dom started performing street art from nothing, i.e. “zero; I hope that when someone see my stickers, they will be like me, start doing street art from “zero”.

2. It can be a slogan for encouraging people when they are unhappy, down or miserable. He also wants people to remind their friends of this slogan when the same things happen.

Apart from using stickers, “Start From Zero” also uses wheat pastes, spraying on stencils with different characters and illustrations to convey his message on streets. “Street From Zero” does solo street art as well as collaboration street art. He is an active member of a Hong Kong Street Art crew - ST/ART. Besides performing street art, “Street From Zero” will release various products, T-shirts, badges, caps and other accessories. These are the additional media for “Start From Zero” to more widely spread his message to everyone.

ufo art gallery presents a solo exhibition about Start From Zero, “Brick the Wall�.

The exhibition will feature more than a dozen pieces related to stickers, stencil, poster collage, mixed with wood discarded on the street.

Q1.

這是Start from Zero第幾次在香港搞個展？ 會有商品出售嗎？有貼紙派嗎？ DOM 第二個個展， 沒有商品出售！有我們的酒瓶出售， 它不是商品出售！貼紙一定 有，一定吾會冇！如果冇便是派哂，如果重有便是未派哂！ Katol 補充 這是我們第二次的個展，之前已是三年前，即2007年名為 Bo"x"mian Journey 的展覽，在Lab Yellow舉行，現在已變成我們上次（issue 003）跟10 magazine 訪問的地點，graphicairlines 的studio，上次的概念比較即興，今次比較 多點時間準備。而所有作品都公開始發售，幫助及支持我們終生創作:) 。當然 有我們的地方就有貼紙出現！

今次展覽的主題是...

start from zero的創作理念是......

DOM Brick the wall! Break the wall ?? 我們在不知不覺受人控制了， 反駁也沒有用， 結果都是一樣！但如你不反駁,只會更仆街地仆 下去！仆仆仆地仆下去，主題更深的內容，可 能我自己都不知道，你去看看再請同我說！我 們不用多說，想便去做，不要拖拖拉拉，天秤 座就是這樣！

DOM 由零開始，start from zero。我們把生活，錯 覺，幻想及情緒，變異為圖像！ 思想不同看不同，思想相同都不會同！十年前 的意思和現在能否相同？有變化，但在以往的 加上改建為現狀，希望你們多點看看街上的一 草一物。

Katol補充 Brick The Wall ! 有關捍衛我們所有自由！ 今 次差不多所有作品由木頭拼貼而成，當然少不 了stencil 。

Katol補充 多點人參與街頭藝術，不害怕錯誤，留意及改 變自己及他人生活。

DOM 難受的是有人用 「street artist」來利用你。

DOM 朋友更多，能接觸世界各地的人！他們都是 融入了street art, 令我更開心，就是遇上同 道中人！

最想到哪個地方的街頭發表你們的設 計？ DOM 香港以外都很想，去了便會留痕。

Q7. to Q10. 創作了10年，現在的目標與最初開始的目標可有改變？ 是甚麼目標？ DOM 改變很多嗎？其實又不是！ 以前可能目標是想更多人認同我們 所做的，但今天你不認同我所做的，我都唔會理，我們覺好的， 我們喜愛便夠了，便去做了！只希望一天你看到後，會有另一種 感覺，好與壞都好好！

你們對於香港的street art scene有甚麼意見？ DOM 留痕不流行十常八九，死旅塗生﹣還未放棄，巳好好彩！

你們最欣賞的street artist是誰？欣賞他甚麼？ DOM shepard fairey- obey giant。 無得講，佢係令我開始的重要人物，今時今日他都一樣，可能有 很多人都只認識ＯＢＥＹ這個品牌，但他做其他所做的，我諗很 少人會理！他現在仍在街頭創造。

用10年建立一個品牌，下一個10年，有甚麼計劃？ DOM 我們不是一個品牌，應該是說不單單是一個品牌！ 我們用很多元素去製作，只要我們有一個主題，便會去發展不同 的圖像或口句，例如有年是說波希米亞，便會有一幅KILL THE BOSS 的POSTER, STICKERS, 及Tee shirt 等等！今年Brick the wall，我們有Ｎevermind the pepper 的東西。總之不單是一 個品牌！ 下十年會有什麼計畫？下一年還未知，如下十年每年可以去３個 地方，WHEATPASTE and STICKERS，那我們應該會是很足夠 了。 Katol補充 我想繼續對抗這金錢為終生目標的社會，做更多無聊有趣的獨立 創作。
