Dimension Cubes
In this study, the project focused on the three visual dimensions, represented in a cube. The three stages (line, plane, and volume) were each crafted and then used as inspiration for the next stage; the line block inspired the plane block, and drawings of the plane block helped to inspire the volume block.
Armature and Panels
In this study, I was assigned to create an interesting space within a volume using knowledge gained from the dimension cubes. The space was then molded with plaster to form a 3D rendition of the negative space.
An armature was then designed to compliment the plaster block while the plaster block was placed on top. The project was concluded when I designed two drawn panels that represent the process (left) and exemplified unique attributes (right).
Architectural Description Drawings
In this project I was assigned five words that are used to describe shape, form and patterns. The first panel of each word is the word written out in architectural writing along with the word’s definition. The next two panels represent the words as an object/ symbol (below the word) and the word as a plane/series (right of the word). The final panels were created by redrawing pictures taken in Cincinnati in order to represent the words in question.
