Katie Isherwood Chapman University Major: Screenwriting Minor: Dance Katie, above all, is a storyteller. And, it was during her time at St. Francis High School that Katie learned to recognize this. It was through Christy Costales and the inspiration of her friends and family - especially Katie's parents, Chiara and Francesca Giordani, Betsy Tanner, and Dr. Briggs - that Katie gained her identity. During her freshman year, she was exposed to a whole new way to perform dance, which was performing dance not just as a series of steps, but as a true form of conveying human thought, emotion, and stories. This then led Katie to understand that all of her passions have storytelling in common, from dance to writing to violin to the study of Latin and natural history. Katie is fortunate and blessed to pursue these passions at Chapman University. Katie would like to thank her friends and family for these amazing experiences in addition to thanking the Patrons of the Arts and Ms. Danielson for their continual support of the arts. 12

She has taken Art 1, Drawing 1, Drawing 2, and AP Studio Art at St. Francis. She went from dancing to gymnastics to singing to tech, and found her home behind the sound computer compiling music and sounds. Balancing sports and the arts with school work was a challenge for her, but the tight schedule helped her grow into who she has become today. As a kid, she was always into films and TV shows.
