As we celebrate another successful school year - witnessing the 258 confident young women who graduated and crossed the stage at Memorial Auditorium - we take a moment to reflect with gratitude for all the blessings we’ve experienced at St. Francis Catholic High School. During the summer reprieve, I urge you to take time to pause, reflect and restore your energy. I have found the power of a pause to be incredible - pause the speed of our lives, pause the external interferences, pause for reflection and prayer. Find out what is important to you, what you love, what is real and true. This time can infuse and inform your sense of balance, priority, faith, and the importance of family.

As I began to pause for my reflections at our graduation ceremony, the following excerpt from Thessalonians 5:15 came to mind: “Always seek to do good. To one another and to all. Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances.”

• Your parents’ love for you made these years at St. Francis the gift of a lifetime. • You have seen the love that God has for each of you, and how that gift can make a tremendous impact on others through your generosity and commitment to service. • And I’ve witnessed over these last four years the love you have for each other. How will you share this gift as you go on to college, a career, and to nurturing your own family? • This gift of love is one you now have a responsibility to give – to make a difference in the life of another. • In the words of St. Francis of Assisi, “It is in giving that we receive.” • Be mindful of our many gifts, for they are not ours but ours to give. Have a restful and rejuvenating summer. Blessings,

A few of the thoughts that I shared with our young Margo Reid Brown ‘81 graduates as they embark on the next chapter of their journey: • As a graduate of St. Francis the lessons of these four years are in your heart forever to Calendar Highlights keep with you, the power of love - God IS Summer School Courses and camps at love. various times/dates beginning June 13 • There is no greater gift than to give of yourself to another.
