St George’s, Ascot welcomes military and diplomatic families, and takes great pride in offering a home from home, stability and support for your daughter’s education. We are pleased to offer a 25% discount off boarding fees* for UK military and UK diplomatic families.
We know that geography and logistics contribute significantly to a family’s decision about a school. St George’s is ideally located within a 30 acre, semi-rural site in Ascot, Berkshire, just a short drive from Ascot train station (with direct links
into London Waterloo), 30 minutes drive from Aldershot Super Garrison and only 25 minutes from Heathrow airport. St George’s is a school with excellent transport links for military families situated around the UK and further afield.

For military and diplomatic families we appreciate that change is a specifically pressing issue, with postings having the potential to affect your child’s educational, social and emotional life. Here at St George’s, developing our pupils’ confidence is central to our ethos and education. The size of St George’s allows girls to find their place, make new
friends and settle into the SGA family quickly. Pupils regularly tell us that one of their favourite things about SGA is that everyone knows everyone, and the strong bonds our girls develop with their peers, with girls from across year groups and with their teachers is one of the unique selling points of our School.
St George’ Head, Liz Hewer, believes there is no such thing as a typical Georgian, as experience shows that one size never fits all with our girls. We develop and support each of our pupils to reach their individual potential, providing an ambitious, contemporary education that allows them to achieve the future of their choice. Our value added is impressive, most recently placing St George’s 7th out of 344 schools at GCSE using a Cambridge University measure and an average of 85% of our Upper Sixth leavers achieve their first choice of university. Pupils are successful in the arts, the humanities and in STEM subjects alike, benefiting from small class sizes, close relationships with our committed teaching staff and regular, easy access to an array of ‘big school’ facilities. Our girls also have space to grow on the stage, in the recording studio, the art gallery, and on the football field as much as in the classroom.
For parents who are members of the Regular Armed Forces or whose parents are with the FCDO, we are pleased to offer a 25% remission. We are also currently offering 25% off day fees to pupils who have at least one parent who is a member of the Armed Forces.
With 40% of our pupils choosing to board and 20% of those living with us full time, we place great importance on our boarders’ wellbeing and happiness. Boarding culture is woven into our school day as all our pupils complete their formal learning, then enjoy
co-curricular club time followed by completing their prep together. Each pupil benefits from ten weekly touch points with their tutor, their Head of Year, and members of our pastoral care team and, for our boarders, with our team of House staff. Pupils speak of the seamless
merging of the boarding and day cultures and of deep and lasting friendships forged as they live and learn together. With a full weekend programme, Saturday activities and planned excursions, there is plenty of opportunity to keep our girls occupied and busy.
