Welcome to the Loveday Fund
An opportunity for you to play an instrumental part in shaping new horizons for our School community, and to influence our pupils’ successes.
At St George’s Ascot, we are committed to working with you to enhance and extend every element of the learning experience for our current and future pupils. We want them to live, develop and thrive in a high-quality school environment that meets their needs, encourages their talents, passions and skills, and offers transformative educational opportunities.
Named after our founder, Miss Anne Loveday, the fund proudly continues her legacy, building upon a century-long commitment to nurture our girls into becoming confident, capable, and connected young women. Your valued involvement will enable us to support a greater number of pupils to mature into exceptional people who will excel in their chosen fields, based on the strong foundations created at St George’s.
The School team and I invite you to join us in this partnership. We will be delighted to talk to you about the ways in which you may wish to contribute towards our ambitions for our pupils and the School. Thank you for your interest in the Loveday Fund.
With best wishes,
Liz Hewer HEAD
What does the Loveday Fund support?
Increasing access to transformative education
We are committed to ensuring that girls who show inspiring talent, particular skills and a commitment to learning have access to St George’s Ascot’s excellent educational programme.
Our bursary provision can make an important difference to a pupil’s future direction, and can literally be life-changing in their impact. Through the Loveday Fund, with your help we aim to offer more high level transformational bursaries to open up the educational horizon for more girls.
It brings great benefits to the individual and to our School community, as we embrace a wider mix of personal experiences, knowledge and aspirations among our girls.
Enriching our pupils’ experience
Central to the St George’s ethos is enhancing educational experience through enrichment activities.
You can empower pupils to broaden their horizons, interests and understanding through a diverse range of co-curricular activities.
St George’s is proudly partnering with the Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation to ensure that promising girls for whom our School is a good fit will have the chance to explore and reach their educational potential with us. This programme enables us to connect with pupils who otherwise might not access our School.
Participation in arts, music, and sports can all feed a life-long love of those pursuits which promote good physical health, positive mental wellbeing and creative expression.
Through volunteering, our girls develop social skills and a deeper understanding of the benefits of community engagement.
Your investment in our enrichment programme will create a greater range of options for pupils to explore. It will help them to thoroughly prepare for their life ahead.
Pupil enrichment propels exceptional young women to make a meaningful impact throughout their School journey and beyond, embodying St George’s aim for each pupil to be confident, capable and connected.
The volunteering programmes that St George’s offers; many of us read with younger children at a local primary school during our Lower Sixth Year which taught us responsibility.
Ensuring St George’s estate is fit for the future
Well-planned investments in our buildings, equipment and green spaces will provide the best possible environment for our pupils in which to live, study and flourish. You can ensure the School estate and environment fully meets pupils’ needs, now and in the future
St George’s has a mix of buildings and facilities, which we want to preserve and enhance to match the expectations of our pupils and their parents. From our beautiful main building, Markham, with its impressive central hall, to our high-quality modern theatre and state-of-theart swimming pool complex, you can help us to protect, manage and revitalise these facilities to provide consistently excellent surroundings which augment pupils’ experiences.
As we look forward, there will be fresh building projects, vital refurbishments and essential maintenance. Some of these are core projects and are key to maintaining the School, for the wellbeing of pupils, staff and visitors. To have a solid, reliable core to our estate enables us to be confident and aspirational in scoping and delivering advanced spaces that promote positive work, play and relaxation.
We are proud to be the custodians of our wonderfully green site, which is so important for our pupils’ wellbeing. By developing our planting and tree management we are creating a beautiful
place that offers health benefits to our School community, natural habitats for flora and fauna, and protects the historical School site.
Recognising your contribution
Founder Partners
Our first 25 donors (giving at any level) receive the distinction of being a Founder Partner of the Loveday Fund.
Loveday Partners
As a donor to the Loveday Fund at any level up to £3,000 per year, we welcome you as part of our Loveday Partnership. You are a valued member of our giving community and your contribution is much appreciated.
Keystone Partners
Donors who opt to give an annual contribution of at least £3,000 or more, either as a lump sum or as cumulative donations. This could open up opportunities to many girls through fee assistance that makes becoming a Georgian a reality.
Dragon Partners
Supporters who have committed to donate at least £30,000 or more, either as a lump sum or as cumulative donations spread across five years (an average of £6,000 per year). As an example of your impact, this could fund a full bursary for one day pupil to fulfil their potential for an academic year.
Your donation – how you can have an impact
We recognise that the amount you choose to give will be a personal choice for each family or supporter, and may change over time. We are
most grateful for any financial gift you wish to give, at any level.
Bursary provision can make the aspiration of a St George’s education a reality, enabling many more families to commit to the excellent
education they wish for their daughter, and allows others to securely continue their St George’s journey if circumstances unexpectedly change.
Working in partnership with the School and other donors, you can make this a reality for future and current pupils, along with greater growth from enrichment activities and a high-quality site.
Any gift is most welcome.
If you feel unsure what to donate, may we suggest the following options:
• A monthly donation of one percent of the day place fee for a term – £95
• A monthly donation of one percent of a full boarding place fee for a term – £150
• An annual contribution of £3,000 (£250 per month)
• A commitment to donate £30,000 across five years
Thank you for your generosity. Please contact our Head of Philanthropy, Rachelle Barnett, on philanthropy@stgeorges-ascot.org.uk, if you would like to discuss your giving options.

How to contribute to the Loveday Fund
Regular donations
The Loveday Fund offers you an opportunity to commit to giving much-appreciated and consistent support through your regular monthly donation. By choosing to give a monthly gift, you are helping St George’s to plan how we will invest in different projects and support for our pupils against a clear view of expected future income.
One-off gifts
Any one-off donation will be warmly received, and can be instrumental in supporting us to fulfil a key project at a pivotal moment. There is no limit to the number of one-off donations you can make in a year; some donors find this approach allows them to be more flexible in their support.
Pledges
A pledge is a promise of support – whether in the near future or longer-term. If you would like to make a pledge to the Loveday Fund that is convenient for your own financial planning, we would be delighted to work with you to identify the best way to achieve this.
Legacies and Gifts in Wills
We welcome legacies and Gifts in Wills to both the Loveday Fund, and to St George’s overall. We recognise that you will want to ensure your loved ones are provided for in the first instance, but there are a variety of ways in which you can help to secure the future of the School in your legacy planning. You can find out more in our Legacy Brochure or by speaking to our Head of Philanthropy.
Gift Aid
However you choose to donate, if you are a UK taxpayer you can increase the value of your gift by allowing St George’s to claim Gift Aid at 25p per £1 donated, at no additional cost to you. For example, this means a donation of £100 is worth £125 to the School; £1,000 becomes £1,250 that will benefit our girls.
If you are eligible, please consider selecting this option when you make your donation, as it will have a significant impact on how the Loveday Fund can transform the School. Thank you.
You will find more information about Gift Aid on our website stgeorges-ascot.org.uk
Our promise to you – how we will use your donation
All donations to the Loveday Fund will be used for our core stated aims, unless you request that we use your contribution for a specific purpose within those aims. We welcome unrestricted donations, as these enable us to flex around the needs of our pupils and our estate as required.
However, we understand that you may have a particular area of our work that is close to your heart. If you would like to request that we use your donation for a specific purpose, we would be delighted to speak to you about the different projects and themes on which you could choose to focus your support.
We will ask you to confirm if you are happy for your donation to be acknowledged publicly or if you would prefer to remain anonymous.
