Hello!

If you are new or visiting, we hope you feel at home. If you require help, speak to a Steward in the foyer and take a green Hello Card. Please fill in a Contact Card if you would like to get involved.

A survey about volunteering will be emailed to everyone this week and shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to complete.

Hard copies will be available. It would be appreciated if each church member (including each member of a family) could respond. The responses will be collated over Summer and we hope that the result will enable us all to work together to make the best use of our skills and gifts in the life of St George's.

  Thank you for praying for this post. We had strong applications and, after a robust interviewing process, have offered the post to Michael Ridley which he has accepted. Michael and his wife, Miriam, have been worshipping here for several months and are part of the Home and Away Network. Pray for them as Michael prepares to join the staff team.

  2-4pm, Sat 11 July, Centre Invite friends and join us as we gather to celebrate a testimony of God at work. Millie Holmes will speak about Lighthouse Network and her recent mission trip. If you would be interested serving at this event then we'd love to hear from you!

If you are going away on short term mission in the Summer, whether abroad or to a children’s or youth camp in the UK, we would love to hear from you and pray for you as a church. Please e-mail with details about where you’re going, when and what you would like us to pray for.

St George’s Crypt food bank is very low on stock. We are especially in need of tins of potatoes and stewed meat.

A doctor from Emmanuel Hospital Association in India has won a scholarship to do some post grad study in Leeds from Sept 2015. He is looking for somewhere to live in a shared/ house flat with other post grads. Contact the office if you could offer him accommodation.

 Souper Supers is a fundraising idea for friends and family to come together, have fun and raise money for St George’s Crypt. If you would like to support this cause, please pick up a leaflet with recipes and ideas in the bookstall area.

  4pm, 19 July, Ripon Cathedral Paul Slater will be consecrated at Bishop of Richmond but he will serve the Leeds area and will be the Bishop most closely involved with St George's.

Joanna Seabourne will represent the clergy but there are seats available if anyone else would like to attend. Name to Janet by Friday 10 July please.

 7.30pm, 7th July, Elland Road Leeds Citizens community organising group has chosen three priorities for action: transport, health & poverty. The official launch event will be attended by Jonathan and a number of St George's members.

   St Barnabas Theological Centre is recruiting for its Independent Leader Track in September and modules in Biblical Studies, Theology, Leadership and Mission. Teaching takes place on Mondays at St Thomas Crookes Campus in Sheffield.
