   EXPLORERS is the Children’s Network for 0-11s. Each week we begin in church before going to our groups in the Church Centre. Children need to be collected at 12.00 noon. ROOTSis our Network for 11-18s. We meet down in the Church Centre at 10.20am each Sunday morning and on Friday night from 7-9pm in the Church Centre. STUDENTS are an integral part of the community here and we host a student network every Thursday night at 7:30 during term time.

REFRESHMENTSare served after services in the Community Room. INDUCTION LOOP St George’s is fitted with an induction loop; please speak to a Steward for assistance. PASTORAL CARE We are seeking to be a community where everyone can be supported and cared for. We encourage you to ask for support, or get someone to ask on your behalf and we will respond as best we can.

GIVING There is an opportunity to give during the service. If you intend to give regularly, please pick up Standing Order and Gift Aid forms in the foyer. PRAYER MINISTRY is offered during and after services at the front of church. If you would like to pray about anything, please ask one of our trained prayer ministers. SERMONS are available online. The funerals of two of our congregation members take place this week. The service for Marie Kellman (Community Church) will be at 12.30pm, Wednesday 9 May, St George’s Church. The service for Ken Ellam’s will be at 12 noon, Friday 11 May, St George's. Please pray for both families as they prepare for the funerals.





At the ACM, Andy Eaves, Mike Jenkins, Che Seabourne and Jane Woodhead were elected to the PCC. Judith Jackson and Michelle Plant were elected to the Deanery Synod. Please pray for all those on the Council.

5.20pm, Sat 12 May, Ripon Cathedral Jonathan has been invited by the Bishop to become an Honorary Canon of Ripon Cathedral, and will be inducted at Evensong. This is a way of thanking both Jonathan and St G’s for the part we play in the life of the Diocese; one of the ways in which we carry out our Sharing Life, Loving Leeds ministry. Everyone is welcome to attend the service.

 There will be an opportunity for baptism and for confirmation on Sun 27 May with Bishop James Bell. If you are interested, please speak to a member of the clergy. Applications must be in by next Sumday13 May.

 Sun 13 May Next Sunday is the Leeds Half Marathon. Please see the website for updates on driving to church.

   6pm, Tue 8 May, Church Centre, An evening of dinner and discussion for parents of and young people aged 9-18 to explore sticky faith. Grab an invite from the board at the back or get in touch for more details.

  12.30-2pm, Sun 20 May, Internationally acclaimed Christian leader Dr. Vinoth Ramachandra will preach at the 10.30am service, followed by a Q&A session with a focus on how St G’s can support the work of the gospel amongst academics. For masters, doctorate and post-doctorate students, international students especially welcome.

  7.30pm, Weds 23 May, ALC Bradford A fantastic national event from Care for the Family is coming up. It's an evening of worship, talks, and drama from Saltmine Theatre Company, all with a challenging message. This is an unmissable event for youth, parents and church leaders. We have a number of pre-booked tickets available for £9.

 Farrell Polson, our caretaker, is retiring on 16 May. He has served both the Church and the Crypt faithfully for the last 13+ years, firstly as a volunteer, then as church caretaker. He has worked quietly and conscientiously, maintaining the fabric of the church, our houses and preparing the church for events. We would like to mark his retirement with a gift. If you would like to contribute, please put your donation in an envelope marked Farrell Polson and put in the offertory bags or give to a member of staff.

 6.30pm, Sat May 12, Church Centre, Please help raise money for the Bethlehem Centre in Romania.   With a vast majority of The City of Leeds primary school children having English as their second language, they are in need of volunteers to come into the school and do one to one readings with individual children. Training will be provided. More info from:
