Mitsubishi dealers receive 4000 new Outlander orders
The Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) dealer network has received more than 4000 orders for the all-new Outlander after the first 20 days of general sales.
More than 10,379 pre-sale enquiries were registered through MMAL’s website by the end of October 2021. Dealers are reporting that Outlander customers viewed Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5 as their next most considered choices. The white paintwork in the vehicle’s pre-launch and launch imagery is mirrored by customer preferences, with more than half selecting either the White or White Diamond paint colours. MMAL says initial interest appears to be split across the model range and, while the variant sales trend won’t be clear before the end of the month, demand for the Exceed and Exceed Tourer models is far greater than expected. It is trying to secure additional production to meet the higher than expected levels of demand for its new medium SUV. “We’re delighted by the response given to the new Outlander, with acclaim coming from Australia’s motoring critics, from Mitsubishi dealers and, most importantly, from our customers,” MMAL chief executive Shaun Westcott says. “Despite healthy stock levels at launch, interest in the new Outlander out of the gate has been unprecedented. We’re doing everything we can to prioritise the delivery of sold orders, and keep our customers informed with the latest delivery information,” he says. MMAL says the new Outlander’s run of global success looks set to continue after the new Plug-in Hybrid variant recently collected a Good Design Award 2021 from the Japan Institute of Design Promotion. The next phase of new Outlander launch is scheduled for the first half of 2022 when the new Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV lands in Australia. Boasting a larger 20kWh drivetrain battery (up from 13.8kWh), the new Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV offers a combined power boost of over 40% and a pure electric range extended from 54km (NEDC cycle) to 87km (WLTP cycle). Local pricing and specifications will be revealed closer to launch.

Don’t Bin Leads.
On average, a dealer acquires 8 leads on a single vehicle to make 1 sale. So what do they do with the other 7?
Dealers using AutoPlay automatically link those leads to new- or price-changed inventory – for no additional marketing spend.
