From The Editor Dear Modanistas, I guess, me saying that I am glad summer is here, is a bit redundant. I do live where its 80 degrees every day. But summer is more than just the season, it’s the energy and excitement that comes along with it. I love summer in South Florida. People are more vibrant, and there a lot more laid-back events like pool parties, and let me not forget, Miami Swim Week.

Rendez-Vous Bar & Grill
Blue Jeans Blues
This is a hidden romantic waterfront location. The food is amazing, and the prices will not break your bank account. One thing I loved about this spot is how quiet it was, very little background noise.. The staff is super friendly and attentive.
If you love live music and high energy, this is the place for you. They have a great selection of tasty entrees, appetizers and cocktails. Also, you will enjoy the old school blues bar environment. This is great for you and your friends or relationship partner.
Lattitudes
Spanky’s Cheesesteak Factory
If you haven’t noticed, I love the ocean. This restaurant has an amazing view from every seat. The food is a bit pricey but its tasty. They also have amazzing and unique cocktails like the Pineapple Shipwreck, which reminded me of a pinapple version of a mojito.
This is a very casual restaurant. Actually, I always either ordered to go or by delivery. But, if you really have a craving for a cheesesteak like the one you get in Philadelphia, this is the place. It is sooooo goooood!!! Trust me, try it out! Thank me later.

If you are visiting or living in Miami or its surrounding areas, you might want to grab your pen and paper to jot down these few hot spots for happy hour. Over the past few years, I have visited several different venues for happy hour in Boca, Fort Lauderdale and Miami. As you might expect, every spot is unique and inviting in its own way, but here are my favorites.

W BRICKELL (Sat Nights) 485 Brickell Avenue, 50th Floor Miami, FL 33131 W Brickell Rooftop, which is now called the Wet Deck has one of the best views of the Miami Sky Line in the city. On Saturday nights, you can enjoy great cocktails and electrifying music until 4am. From time to time, there are also fun day parties hosted by various people during the summer as well.
CLUB EURO 150 NW 24th St Miami, FL 33127
If you are in Broward County and don’t feel like going all the way to South Beach, this is the perfect spot to hear music played by some of the best DJs, enjoy great priced drinks and a diverse crowd. Club Euro is a staple venue in Las Olas. Though many venues around have changed names several times, it is still a must go to spot in South Florida. www.stilomag.com Stilo Magazine

This summer is all about the “GLOW UP.” Achieving the infamous dewy, sun-kissed look is the goal. The key with this look is to look natural and work with the right colors and products that will accentuate your natural skin tones. Applying highlighter to the top of your cheekbones, the tip of your nose, the middle of your forehead, the top of your lip and your chin. Also add highlighter right under your brows. Just add eyeliner, mascara and some gloss. Add some false eye lashes for extra glam. Tip: try to avoid foundation as much as possible. If you have blemishes, use a concealer to cover up minor spots and discoloration. The less foundation you
glossy glam wear, the more natural your glow will be.

Simplicity goes far in fashion. Yes, you can choose an abstract look by mixing prints and wear bolder colors, but minimalism can also be stylish. These are some essential must haves this season, for those days that you want to have the effortless glam. You know, those type of days that you look in the mirror and say, you woke up like this!

Photos: © IMAXtree.com There’s a sense of freedom in spring and summer. This is the season where we shed our extra clothing and dare to bare… or not. As we look back at the S/S 2019 shows and decide what to keep or add to our closets this season, it is evident that designers all had one thing in common… the liberty of being ourselves.
The versatility in femininity is what is so powerful. Our ability to blend different colors, textures and designs into our look never takes anything away from what makes us who we are, no matter the gender.

Miami Fashion Week brought color and fun back to fashion for their Resort Wear Presentations in May. Honestly it has been a long time since, I actually felt inspired by fashion. The combination of heavy visuals, design, music and production really and truly captured the essence of Miami and Resort. Below are a glmpse from Miami Fashion Weeks Designers: Daniela Battle and Vero Diaz.

MODEL DIARY
Nia Burnett
Photos: © NIA BURNETT I call her, Miami’s Tyra Banks. Fierce and fabulous former model, Nia Burnett is one of those women that enjoy doing what she does best. She is a talented stylist, fashion designer, make-up artist and
did I mention, she does hair too. Nia was not meant to fit into one box.
Nia proves that success is not a destination, but a
journey. She is constantly moving and conquering
the next big thing. A true role model and strong force in an industry that is often harsh and judgmental.

To reach one point, as long you’re still breathing and still alive is not enough. One should keep on reach-
ing for more goals and living in a state of gratitude for life. To find other women that encompass the fire that is needed to achieve victory is a gift.
This is just a chance for us to say thank you for being you.
