Dear Teachers and Principals,
I am pleased to welcome you to the 2023 Teachers Educational Conference. I would like to thank you for your dedication to the ministry of Catholic education in the Diocese of Charleston. Taking after our Master Teacher, you faithfully educate, serve and protect the minds and hearts of our youth.
It fills me with joy to know that each and every one of you shares in the Church’ s mission to form disciples and save souls. Through your commitment and sacrifice, this mission is fulfilled every day in your classroom.
Our students are the future of our Church, nation and state. It is our duty to attend to the needs of every individual child so that they may grow to love themselves and the Lord. Today provides a new opportunity to recommit ourselves to building up the Kingdom of God.
I pray for you and for the success of this year’s Teachers Education Conference. May today ignite your faith and unite you in learning with your fellow teachers from across the state And, may God, the source of all wisdom, strengthen you in your vocation to teach.
Lord God, your spirit of wisdom fills the earth and teaches us your ways. Look upon these teachers. Let them strive to share their knowledge with gentle patience and endeavor always to bring the truth to eager minds. Grant that they may follow Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, and the life, forever and ever.
