As experts in first aid, these highly trained adult educators are committed to providing a positive classroom experience. St. John Ambulance’s dedication to quality includes random program monitoring, instructor mentoring and regularly scheduled instructor workshops and updates. No matter where you take your SJA training in BC or Yukon, you will receive the same high quality of instruction.

We do not share your information with anyone outside St. John Ambulance unless required by law, but we do use this information to communicate directly with you.

Class reschedule or Cancellation by St. John Ambulance St. John Ambulance reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any class or course. Questions? If you have any questions or concerns regarding our policies or procedures, please contact our Customer Serving Centre at 1.866.321.2651, M-F 8AM - 8PM, Saturday 9AM - 5PM, or contact your local branch during regular business hours. Accessibility

comfortable clothing

Infectious Illness

St. John Ambulance is working toward increasing the accessibility of our facilities and courses (improved building access, multilingual courses, focus on vulnerable populations). However, there is still much to be done. If you have any special access or learning needs, please contact your local branch to ensure we can accommodate you.

Due to the physical requirements of many of our classes, we strongly recommend that you wear comfortable clothing that can accommodate a wide range of motion such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and getting up from – and down to – our carpeted floors.

If you are showing signs of infectious illness, such as coughing or fever, for the protection of your fellow students you may be asked to leave the class and invited to reschedule at a later date when you are in better health (there will be no reschedule fee applied).

Latex + other allergies

Physical Capability

Pre-Reading For All Courses

St. John Ambulance is working hard to ensure a latex-free environment. However, we need your help! If you have any serious or life-threatening allergies, please inform the branch well in advance of your class.

Many St. John Ambulance courses require good mobility and physical health. If you have any concerns about the level of activity required in a given course, please discuss your situation with your local branch in advance of your class.

It is strongly recommended that students complete their pre-reading before class. Exams include questions related to the pre-reading, which may not be covered in class. Our courses are challenging – be prepared!

Our Commitment to Quality + Value

We’re Listening.

(Speak up!) Because we hear you loud and clear.

You want the best multimedia WorkSafeBC Level One course available. We produced all new training videos, created new course materials, and applied the latest protocols. You are concerned that you may forget your first aid skills between required re-training periods (3 years). We are test-driving a new course titled, “OFA Skills Refresher Workshop” to help you keep your skills current! In addition, if you have over one year left on your WorkSafeBC Level 1, TE, Level 2 or Level 3 certificate, you can now take the same course at 25% off. You realized that an increasing number of industries demand higher levels of first aid training. We have launched our new “Emergency Medical Responder” course in partnership with the Justice Institute of BC. You expect the best possible learning experience. We’ve improved our equipment, modernized the technology in many of our classrooms, further enhanced the quality and monitoring of our Instructors, and we ask every student to complete a class evaluation form (which is individually reviewed and acted upon by our team). You need more flexibility in class times. We have expanded the number of weekend and evening classes for many of our most popular courses. You want a better response time when registering for a course or when you have general questions. We launched our online registration system (available 24/7) and enhanced our Customer Serving Centre so that we can address your needs quickly and efficiently. You believe in investing in first aid training rather than managing paperwork. We continue to improve our Employer Console to make managing our growing line of online training a breeze. You demand the best value for your dollar. We’re applying our popular “value bundle” approach to a growing number of SJA courses. You love our kit, supply and equipment prices, but the selection is too limited. We increased the number of our stock first aid items, while maintaining our commitment to providing the best price in the business. First aid training, supplies, and equipment is a competitive and constantly evolving field. Your ongoing feedback helps us continue to be the only safety advocate that provides first aid solutions anytime, anywhere. Thank you for considering St. John Ambulance for your first aid training and product needs. Sincerely,
