Northern Region Representative Squad (Nationals Squad) 2017 Managers Application Information

This year, the following roles are being advertised for the 2017 Northern Region Representative Squad. All roles are for members throughout the Northern Region who live by the refreshed Values (Straight up, Side by Side, Make it Better, Do the Right Thing and Open Minds) have current CYPP, Police Vet and Volunteer Agreement in place. You need to apply in writing for a role(s) to will.watterson@stjohn.org.nz by 8am, Monday 17 October. Please provide a brief cover letter stating why you would be suitable for the positions(s). The cover letter should include an outline of your skills and competencies explaining why you consider yourself suitable for the role. Previous Nationals or competitions experience would be beneficial but is not required. Current contact information and drivers licence status (learners, restricted or full) is required. In the never ending pursuit of excellence, the manager structure is changing this year to take on board feedback received from past year’s Managers and cadets. The Contingent Manager will manage everything to do with the travelling Contingent that is heading to NYF 2017. They are not required to attend training weekends unless they want to. The Training Manager will manage everything pertaining to our training weekends in order to ensure the best training experience possible for our cadets. The Training Manager will have six direct reports who assist them in delivering training weekends – five Team Managers with special portfolios, and a Logisitics Manager. These six managers will manage the four teams, four emergencies and the four individuals as well as our D Squad. The purpose of this is to distribute work more evenly and ensure everyone gets the support they need. The Contingent Manager will manage all non-competing participants attending the festival. The diagram below should make this clearer.
