Supporting an education for life ANNUAL GIVING 2015

St Leonard’s College

FOUNDATION

SUPPORTING AN EDUCATION FOR LIFE For over 100 years St Leonard’s College has provided young people with exceptional educational experiences. We were the first school to offer the dual academic pathways of VCE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, and generations of Leonardians have enjoyed and thrived on the wonderfully diverse opportunities on offer in the performing arts, sport and other cocurricular pursuits. Most importantly, our community has worked tirelessly to ensure we always have and will always continue to offer these opportunities in an unrivalled atmosphere of love and commitment to developing the whole child. This is what we mean when we speak of ‘an education for life’. Our reputation for innovative education and our exceptionally strong community spirit give us cause to be proud, but we cannot afford to be complacent. In considering the future of our community we are mindful of the need to develop the financial resources that will support our commitment to providing current and future Leonardians with the outstanding facilities and programs necessary to enable them to make meaningful contributions beyond the school gates. We are appealing to every member of our College community to secure the future prosperity of St Leonard’s College. With your generous support we can ensure that the College can continue to provide an education for life into the next 100 years and beyond. Please join me in supporting our Annual Giving Program in 2015.

OUR 2015 PRIORITIES Visual Arts Centre This new precinct will provide a range of exciting spaces designed specifically to engage students with contemporary teaching and learning styles. The consolidation of current facilities into a fully defined cultural centre will provide greater scope for students to engage in art as an element of life-long learning. The gallery spaces will enable a continuous exhibition program to showcase student artwork across all levels of learning. Library Redevelopment In the 21st Century school libraries must re-engineer themselves to meet the changing demands of students and media. The school library becomes the hub for networking, information access, digital literacy instruction, learning and knowledge creation. Your generous support will allow the current library to move to a new location, ensuring its accessibility and continued relevance to our learning community.  

Scholarships

College Foundation Fund

We are seeking to establish 100 endowed scholarships over the next 100 years to provide opportunity for those who lack the financial resources to access a St Leonard’s College education.

St Leonard’s College has yet to establish endowment reserves to support our aspirations and vision for the College. Gifts to the College Foundation Fund will be used at the College’s discretion to support projects from our capital infrastructure development program, our social justice commitments or other causes and programs which will benefit current and future Leonardians.

It is our intention to offer these scholarships to the children of refugees and new immigrants so that we might provide educational opportunities that will assist them in successfully building a new life for themselves, their familes and their community.
