Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy Team
The Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy Team come from a range of backgrounds, faith journeys and professions. We all have an interest in spirituality and issues of faith, as well as a desire to walk alongside others offering help and support. We provide a non-judgemental, safe environment where we can be ‘with you’ as you explore and express your thoughts and feelings. We can give practical help and advice, and if appropriate refer you onto others both in and outside of St Luke’s Hospice.
Spiritual care Providing spiritual care is not just about religion; we offer support to patients, their family, their carers, our staff and volunteers of any or no faith.
The services we offer
We think all human beings have a spiritual aspect, and when faced with challenging times, may find the need to:
•
One to one support and exploration
•
Ask deeper questions
•
Small group gatherings
•
Search for a source of hope and strength
•
Meditation and reflection
•
•
Communion on a one-to-one basis
•
Both a Chapel Service (with communion where possible) and a Mindfulness session are held whenever Day Hospice is open; all are welcome, times on Chapel notice board and hospice website.
Have the support of someone alongside, where feelings, fears and hopes can be acknowledged and safely explored
•
Consider and explore questions of faith
