Life

Sunday 4th December, 2022

We invite you to remember the life of someone special this Christmas by dedicating a light on our tree at the Hospice in their memory. We know that Christmas can be a difficult time as we think of loved ones we have lost and recall happy times spent with them. Our Light up a Life appeal and service gives you the opportunity to celebrate the life of someone special who you treasure forever in your heart. It really is so moving to know that every light that shines on our Christmas tree is dedicated in memory of a loved one. Even though they are no longer with us, their memory still shines bright. We warmly invite you to gather at the Hospice this year for a special service of remembrance on Sunday 4th December. It is an opportunity for us to come together and, as the tree is illuminated, a chance to pause, reflect and recall treasured memories. If you are unable to join us for the remembrance service, please don’t worry, you can still dedicate a light on the tree. Every person who makes a dedication will receive a beautiful card containing the name of their loved one. The name will also be included in our Book of Memories alongside the names and dedications of others. This will be available to view at the service and in the Hospice chapel throughout the year, as well as on our website. You may also wish to receive a special Light up a Life remembrance pack. You can choose to receive this when you make your dedication. By dedicating a light, not only will you be remembering a loved one, but also helping to raise vital funds for the Hospice. Your kind donation will enable St Luke’s to continue to reach out to local people who need our help in the future, providing expert care and support to patients and their families and enabling them to enjoy precious time together.

Our Light up a Life service Our service will take place on Sunday 4th December at 4.30pm. After a two year break due to Covid we look forward to warmly welcoming you to the Hospice in Winsford. The service is for you and we want to make it as special and comforting as possible. When you arrive we will give you a candle to light in remembrance. Then as the service begins there will be readings, poems and music, as well as some quiet time to reflect. We will of course also light our beautiful Christmas tree at the Hospice with all the lights that have been dedicated in memory. Our Book of Memories will be available so you can view the names of those you are remembering. We kindly ask that you return your dedication to us by Wednesday 23rd November so we can create the Book in time. However, we will update the Book in January, should your dedication reach us after this date, and it remains in the chapel throughout the year for you to view at any time. It will also be available to view on our website. We welcome everyone to join us for Light up a Life, so please do extend our invitation to your family and friends.

Light up a Life remembrance pack If you wish you can also receive a Light Up a Life remembrance pack. The pack will contain a candle for you to light at home as well as your card and a little something special to hang on your own Christmas tree at home in memory. If you would like to receive a Light up a Life remembrance pack please add an additional £3 to your donation to cover costs. The pack will be posted to you in November.
