Bethune Cookman St. Luke’s is excited for the return of the Bethune-Cookman University Concert Chorale for a free two-hour evening concert on Thursday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Tickets are required and all seats are general admission. GROW Lenten Church-Wide Study It is not too late to join a Grow group and go deeper with our Lenten sermon series "CrossWords." Final Words From the Cross by Adam Hamilton prepares our hearts for Good Friday through the biblical story as well as what happened through the eyes of six people who witnessed the crucifixion. Hamilton explores the meaning of Jesus’ last words and how they impact our lives today. Vacation Bible School 2016 Block Party Where the party starts with God’s love! Spend time listening to the greatest storyteller of all time. Jesus will help us understand God’s plans through the parables, and we will come to know God as a friend. Join us June 20-24 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Cost $35. Extended Day 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for $15 per day) Those serving at VBS can register now at st.lukes.org/camps. Looking for a class for Lent? St. Luke’s offers a variety of classes including our church-wide study Final Words from the Cross by Adam Hamilton. SERVE Lenten Offering This offering supports local efforts like the Orange County Public School Social Work Emergency Fund, and allows social workers to assist families of students with small but critical needs like glasses, a refrigerator, or a bicycle. Other organizations supported include: Society of St. Andrew which collects excess fruits and vegetables in fields and groves to alleviate domestic hunger, Bread for the World, a faith-based non-partisan advocacy group focused on reducing global and domestic hunger, and Florida Impact, lead organization for ending childhood hunger in Florida. We encourage you to give up $1.00 or $2.00 a day or set a household or small group challenge as part of your Lenten spiritual practice and give toward this goal.
