WORSHIP Worship

What's up with worship?

Prelude “My Shepherd Will Supply My Need” The Handbell Choir

Gathering for Worship Choral Introit Honk If You Love Jesus! Beyond Bumper Sticker Faith You can be a “bumper sticker Christian” but to be a disciple you have to move beyond. This series will take us on a journey through all of the expectations that we put on top of our faith and the cross. We will reflect on the pomp and circumstance, the way we think things should be, and who/what we put our faith in instead of Jesus Christ. We will examine what being a true follower of Christ looks like and sounds like as we move beyond bumper sticker faith.

UNEWS Lenten Offering One Great Hour of Sharing Offering for United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is being lifted up in United Methodist Churches around the world today and is one of the many projects funded by our Lenten offering. UMCOR typically responds to disasters around the world within 24 hours. Supporting UMCOR through the Lenten Offering, means 100% of the funds raised for a particular disaster go directly to supporting the community affected by that disaster. This makes UMCOR unique among disaster organizations in this country. Please consider giving up $1 or $2 a day during Lent to serve those in our community and around the world. Write “Lenten Offering” in the memo line of your check or on the offering envelope. You can also give online at st.lukes.org/give.

Transition Questions View frequently asked questions about St. Luke’s leadership transition at st.lukes.org/transition or pick up a Q&A packet in the information racks in the Narthex and in the gym lobby.

Church Council Meeting The next church council meeting is Tuesday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m. in Building C Room 201-203. Church Council meetings are the third Tuesday of each month unless otherwise noted. All St. Luke’s elected leadership meetings are open for attendance with the exception of Staff-Parish. View elected leaders at st.lukes.org/churchleaders.

Connection Cards Since the launch of our new Connection Cards just three weeks ago we have received close to 180 requests. Let us know how we can be in prayer for your family by filling out a Connection Card today.

FINANCIAL UPDATE Pledged vs. Budget (as of 3/11/15)

This graph shows the 2015 total pledged amount versus anticipated ministry need *minus expected other income of $600,000. Expected other income includes but is not limited to receipts from ministries such as St. Luke's School of the Arts, Counseling Center, Child Development Center, sports and vacation Bible school. Our goal for 2015 is that 100% of the congregation turns in a pledge card. We currently have 431 pledges out of a possible 1500. The more pledge cards we receive, the better we can forecast for the 2015 budget. Pick up a pledge card in the campus brochure racks, the church office, or at st.lukes.org/ stewardship and turn in your card TODAY. Place it in the offering plate, drop it by the church office, mail it, or email it to Kelly Smith at ksmith@st.lukes.org. Ensure your giving continues even when you cannot be in worship by giving online at st.lukes.org/give.
