SERVE Within the Community CIRCLES: Circles is a unique nationwide initiative to end poverty one family at a time. It’s grounded in the understanding (1) that responsibility for both poverty and prosperity is shared by individuals, institutions, communities, and systems; and (2) that the lives of everyone in a relationship are enriched, regardless of their socioeconomic or educational status, income, or life situation. St. Luke’s is the Lead Organization of our local Circles site, Circles Orange County. We have formed 2 Circles classes and are currently recruiting to form our 3rd class in Fall 2015. Each class consists of individuals working to get out of poverty (Circle Leaders) who are matched with two or three middle or upper middle-income individuals (Allies). Allies and Leaders grow friendships and walk together to support and empower each other to reach self-determined goals and to end poverty. Come TODAY to a Circles Information Session to learn about becoming a Circle Ally or Leader and to pick up our 2014 Annual Report! Meet TODAY at 9:30 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. in the Pastor’s Conference Room in Building C or on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Special Events Dining Room in Building C. Contact Dorothea Lee at 407.876.4991 ext. *347 or dlee@ st.lukes.org for information and with questions. C.O.P.E. C.O.P.E. is an experience for people who, instead of talking about poverty, choose to be a part of the solution to end it. This training is appropriate for middle school age and older individuals.
