Current Worship Series! During Pentecost we celebrate the birth of the church, and in this Pentecost sermon series, we will explore the writings of Paul to the early church as they began their journey of faith as disciples of Jesus Christ. We'll also explore our own legacy of Christ-centered discipleship and missions here at St. Luke’s. This will be Pastor Bill’s final series from the pulpit before his retirement, and his final sermons or letters to our church will be powerful as we celebrate our legacy, leadership and love in our community and around the world. Pastor Bill along with our other clergy will bring a special word of encouragement and challenge to us as we step into the next chapter of our legacy, continually striving to be more than brick and mortar in a world in need of help and hope.

Summer Choir Sanctuary choir needs you! During the choir’s summer hiatus, we will have two Sundays, July 26 and August 9 that will feature our Summer “Pick-Up” Choir. Members of the choir who are in town will be joined by the curious, pew singers (that means YOU) to rehearse at 8:45 a.m. an easy tune or two, then sing that morning at the 9:30 a.m. traditional worship service. NO WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER OR THRIVE PROGRAMMING: Wednesday night dinners and THRIVE programming are taking a break for the summer. Dinner and THRIVE will resume in September. (50+) NEW SOUL MATES STUDY: Learn more about the 12 apostles through this class focused on couples who want to discuss the keys to a loving and sacred relationship and examine the relationship between Jesus and his disciples. This class meets at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays in Building C Room 208-210. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL-JUNE 15-19: Register now at st.lukes.org/children. Kids will explore how to put their faith into action with skateboards, running shoes, roller blades, and more! In this mission-focused VBS, kids experience God’s love and discover how to fuel up and move in and through life with God. VBS is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. daily (limited space for extended day). Cost is $35.00 and ages 4-rising 6th graders can attend. Limited space available for 3-year-olds for adults who are serving. 7th gradershigh school students may serve for community service hours. Jobs Partnership: The Jobs Partnership of Florida is a faith-based, nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives of the chronically underemployed by developing the skills they need. Jobs Partnership offers a 12-week Life and Work program that equips participants with skills for life and the workplace. They also offer Career OnRamp training programs in growing industries. Visit the Serve table in the Building C Rotunda on June 7 to learn more about the program and available volunteer opportunities. Coalition Meal Ministry, June 20: Put your culinary and hospitality gifts to use! On Saturday, June 20, St. Luke’s is preparing dinner for the Coalition for the Homeless. We need bakers from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the St. Luke’s main kitchen in Building C; cooks from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the shelter and servers from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the shelter. Elementary age children may be involved in baking and serving. Cooks must be high school age or older. Family Promise June 21-28: Help working families who are homeless become self-supportive. Help provide hospitality, meals, or serve as an evening or overnight host. Families and friends can serve together. COST OF POVERTY EXPERIENCE (COPE): Calling one and all who want to gain a true understanding of poverty and make a difference in our community! Join us TODAY in the Fellowship Hall from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. This two hour simulation and debriefing provides a glimpse into what it feels like to walk for a month in the shoes of families trying to survive with incomes between 100% and 200% of the federal poverty level. COPE is appropriate for individuals who are middle school age and older and for those serving locally. Choose to be part of the solution to end poverty. Come and be transformed!
