Current Worship Series! During Pentecost we celebrate the birth of the church, and in this Pentecost sermon series, we will explore the writings of Paul to the early church as they began their journey of faith as disciples of Jesus Christ. We'll also explore our own legacy of Christ-centered discipleship and missions here at St. Luke’s. This will be Pastor Bill’s final series from the pulpit before his retirement, and his final sermons or letters to our church will be powerful as we celebrate our legacy, leadership and love in our community and around the world. Pastor Bill along with our other clergy will bring a special word of encouragement and challenge to us as we step into the next chapter of our legacy, continually striving to be more than brick and mortar in a world in need of help and hope.

Invitation to Iftar, Breaking of the Fast-June 24 Our friends at the Jama Masjid have once again invited St. Luke’s to join in the spiritual discipline of fasting during Ramadan and then breaking the fast with our Muslim friends at the Jama Masjid on Wednesday, June 24 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Iftar and Prayer Service will be held at the Jama Masjid located at 11543 Ruby Lake Rd. Summer Choir Sanctuary choir needs you! During the choir’s summer hiatus, there will be two Sundays, July 26 and August 9 that will feature a summer “pick-up” choir. Members of the choir who are in town will be joined by the curious, pew singers (that means YOU) to rehearse at 8:45 a.m. an easy tune or two, then sing that morning at the 9:30 a.m. traditional worship service. Jobs Partnership: The Jobs Partnership of Florida is a faith-based, nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives of the chronically underemployed by developing the skills they need to get ahead. Jobs Partnership offers a 12-week Life and Work program that equips participants with skills for both life and the workplace. Visit the Serve table in the Rotunda of Building C TODAY to learn more about Jobs Partnership and the various volunteer opportunities available. Family Promise, June 21-28: The Family Promise program helps working families who are homeless become self-supportive. We transform upstairs classrooms in Building B into bedrooms and use part of the Fellowship Hall for meals and family time. Help provide hospitality, meals, or serve as an evening or overnight host. Coalition Meal Ministry, June 20: Put your culinary and hospitality gifts to use! On Saturday, June 20, St. Luke’s is preparing dinner for the Coalition for the Homeless. We need bakers from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the St. Luke’s main kitchen in Building C; cooks from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the shelter and servers from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the shelter. Elementary age children may be involved in baking and serving. Cooks must be high school age or older. Winter Garden Habitat Construction: Get your hands dirty and join in the fun! On June 13 we will be cleaning the house and we could use lots of help. The two home sites are located at 493 and 555 Bethune Avenue in Winter Garden.
