On Sunday, June 9, the church conference voted to move forward with releasing the remaining Bodybuilding funds, forming a building committee and forming a campaign committee. AUGUST Update Supplying backpacks and trained volunteers for "Meet the Teacher Night" at Maxey Elementary School • Introductory meetings about Circles Campaign in East Winter Garden • The phase 1 building committee continues to discuss facilities optimization with architects and worship staff • Commit Campaign Committee has been created to work on informational material, prospectus and to build lay volunteer teams • All St. Lukers have received Save the Dates cards in the mail. Connect RAGTIME intertwines the stories of three extraordinary families as they confront history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America. Performances August 16 -17 at 7:30 p.m. and August 18 at 4:00 p.m. in the Coleman Memorial Gymnasium. Tickets are $10 each and are available in the Building C Welcome Hall between worship services, online at st.lukes.org/ ragtime, and in the church office during normal business hours. (If purchasing tickets online, print your receipt and bring it with you to the show. This receipt will serve as your ticket into the event.)*Caution: This show contains difficult subject matter regarding race, gender and violence. Grow GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT 2013 AUGUST 8 & 9

The Global Leadership Summit is a two-day, world-class leadership event experienced by more than 170,000 leaders around the world, representing more than 14,000 churches. It will be telecast LIVE around the globe from Willow's campus (near Chicago) but you can experience this amazing event from the comfort of the St. Luke’s Sanctuary. TRACE THE JOURNEYS OF PAUL IN GREECE IN 2014: Pastor Bill is returning to Greece for 8 days starting April 26, 2014 followed by an optional three-day Greek island cruise including Mykonos, Ephesus, Patmos and Santorini. WESLEY HERITAGE TOUR 2014: Join Pastor Jad and Shelly Denmark on a 9-day trip to England starting July 7, 2014 with an optional four-day London tour. The 9-day trip will visit Epworth, the childhood home of John and Charles Wesley, the birthplace of the Methodist movement, as well as London, Bristol, Bath, Stratford and Oxford. LIFE COACHING SEMINAR: This interactive class will help participants engage in personal discovery to bridge the gap between desire and realization of your goals. Using hands-on exercises, participants will follow a sequence of steps to identify and reach their goals. Serve Within Our Community NEXT COST OF POVERTY EXPERIENCE (C.O.P.E.) AUGUST 11: This two-hour simulation helps you experience what it means to live a month in the shoes of families between 100%-200% of the poverty level. This activity is for those who want to do more than talk about poverty. Appropriate for middle school age or older. Participate Sunday, August 11 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Within Our Church JOB OPENING: St. Luke’s is seeking a part-time Assistant Director of Instrumentalists for our Music Ministries. This position serves as the primary accompanist for the Sanctuary Choir, ensembles, children’s and youth choirs and the gospel choir as well as the organist for all traditional worship services. This position will coordinate all musical needs for weddings and funerals conducted at the church.This is an hourly position estimated at 25-28 hours per week. Medical benefits included.
