Annual Church Conference The annual church conference will be held on Tuesday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Building C Room 203-204. The patch is open Monday-Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. FAMILY CAMPOUT: The third annual St. Luke's Fall Family Campout starts Friday, October 17 at 5:30 p.m. There will be food trucks available (at a cost), campfire songs, stories in the pumpkin patch, s’mores and a hot breakfast. The cost of $25.00 per family includes breakfast and snacks. Bring your own tent, RV, or camper (no hook-ups available, showers and bathrooms will be open in Building C). Space is limited so reserve your spot today at st.lukes.org/campout. UNITED METHODIST WOMEN'S HOLIDAY BAZAAR: Join us in the Coleman Memorial Gymnasium from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8. GROW HOLY LAND INFORMATIONAL MEETING: If you have been considering joining Pastor Bill for his April 2015 Holy Land trip, now is the time to register. Family Promise Guests Are Here!: TODAY through Sunday, October 19, we are hosting four families who are temporarily without a home. Some of our Sunday school classrooms will be their bedrooms and the Fellowship Hall is their common living space. Please help us make them feel welcome. Wednesday Construction with Habitat: If Saturdays don’t work out for you to volunteer with the construction in East Winter Garden, you now have the option to volunteer on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If you can’t stay the whole time, we can use your help for an hour or two. Coalition Meal Ministry: St. Luke’s is preparing a meal for the families at the Coalition on Saturday, October 18. Volunteer needs include: Cooking – 10 volunteers needed from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Shelter; Serving – 15 volunteers needed from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shelter; and Baking – 8 volunteers needed from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the St. Luke’s kitchen in Building C. IMPACT - A One Time Volunteer Opportunity: Pineloch Elementary School is having a book fair Monday through Friday, October 27-31 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Set up is on Friday, October 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Help out for an hour or more either/both days. Habitat Groundbreaking: On Saturday, October 25 construction for the Carbajal family’s home begins at 493 Bethune Ave. in East Winter Garden. EAST WINTER GARDEN COMMUNITY GARDEN: If you’re not afraid to get a little dirt on your hands and you find the outdoors relaxing, visit the East Winter Garden Community Garden anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Mondays and Saturdays starting October 13. BRIDGES OUT OF POVERTY: Saturday, October 25 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in Building C Room 200-202. This research-based training addresses how social class affects people, the hidden rules of class, and how to build relationships across socioeconomic lines. Bridges is a required training for all people wishing to serve as Circles Allies in East Winter Garden, but it is open to anyone interested in learning about poverty, social class and building relationships.
