The patch is open MondayFriday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For the safety of all those serving and visiting the Patch, the road behind Building C will be closed October 8-31. Please allow for extra time to maneuver around campus. Pumpkin unload dates are October 8 and 22 at 4:00 p.m. All ages are welcome and needed. Register for pumpkin shifts and unloads at www.st.lukes.org/youth. FAMILY CAMPOUT: The third annual St. Luke's Fall Family Campout starts Friday, October 17 at 5:30 p.m. There will be food trucks available (at a cost), campfire songs, stories in the pumpkin patch, s’mores and a hot breakfast. The cost of $25.00 per family includes breakfast and snacks. Bring your own tent, RV, or camper (no hook-ups available, showers and bathrooms will be open in Building C). GROW HOLY LAND INFORMATIONAL MEETING: If you have been considering joining Pastor Bill for his April 2015 Holy Land trip, now is the time to register. SERVE Within our Community WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY: This day promotes Christian unity and ecumenical cooperation throughout the world on the first Sunday of every October. Today we lift up St. Luke’s Global Missions and ask for your prayers. Visit the tables in the Rotunda for more information about each of these ministries. Mission Partners: St. Luke’s mission partners beyond the Central Florida community include Branches UM Mission and Community Center in Florida City, Methodist Church in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Methodist Church in Melones, Cuba, United Church in St. Ann’s Parish, Jamaica, and Compassion Child Sponsorship with Lideta Community in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Missionaries: St. Luke’s currently supports four full-time missionaries and one individual volunteer in mission including Kim King Torres, Branches, Florida City, Florida, The Rev. Britt Gilmore, East Belfast Mission, Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Alison Gilmore, Skainos, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Mission Teams: A small team of Jamaica Mission leaders is preparing for strategic meetings in early 2015. The Cuba Mission Team is also exploring options for 2015. FAMILY PROMISE GUESTS WILL BE HERE NEXT WEEK: Five times a year St. Luke’s partners with Family Promise of Greater Orlando seeking to keep families together in the face of homelessness. During the week of October 12 through19, classrooms will be transformed into bedrooms and the Fellowship Hall into a common living space.
