MORNING EDITION: This women’s Bible study will meet at 8:00 a.m. in the Office Conference Room of Building C beginning Wednesday, November 20 to begin an Advent study in preparation for Christmas. NEW HORIZONS SINGLES: Journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem in this unique look at the birth of Jesus Christ. Using historical information, scripture, archaeological data, and video excursions in the Holy Land, the most amazing moment in history becomes more real and heartfelt as readers walk along that same road. EXEGESIS WITH PASTOR BILL: If you enjoy Pastor Bill’s sermons, come spend an extra hour learning at his Exegesis Bible study every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Building B Room 209. ONLINE ADVENT RETREAT: Join Jan Richardson (former St. Luke’s Associate Pastor) for “Illuminated 2013” an online Advent experience. Childcare available by reservation. 3. Attend the Decide Class: This final class builds on the experiences from the first four courses and empowers participants to continue their Christian journey. Subjects include the spiritual disciplines, The Bible in 12 Words, Commit and Meet Jesus on the Road.

Serve Within Our Community SERVING WITH JOY AND DIGNITY FOR THE HOLIDAYS: Today we begin our holiday mission giving. Watch for more details in the coming weeks and stories about how St. Luke’s celebrates the holidays with dignified interdependence. Please contact Sharon Briggs at sbriggs@st.lukes.org or 407.876.4991 ext. *239 if you are able to volunteer for any of these ministries. • Wish Tree: Tags can be picked up TODAY and UNWRAPPED gifts will be returned by Sunday, December 8. These gifts will be given to the Orange County Public School Social Workers who work with the parents of children in need throughout the county and to a Christmas event in East Winter Garden. Volunteers will be needed on Wednesday, December 11 to help with the gift sorting and pick up and each Sunday to move the gifts. • Bags of Grace: Food will be collected in the Welcome Hall November 24 through December 8. These will go to families in public schools who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Volunteers will be needed on Sunday, December 8 for sorting and loading trucks. • Global Fair Trade Market: Once again St. Luke’s will work with Ten Thousand Villages to offer fair trade gifts for your holiday shopping. The Market will be available on Saturday evening, December 7 between the Christmas Concerts and on Sunday morning, December 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed for unpacking and pricing on Friday, December 6 and to help on Sunday for the sale. PRAYERS FOR BELFAST TEAM: Our Belfast Mission Team leaves on November 21 and returns on November 30. Prayers are appreciated for the team and our mission partners in Belfast. The team will spend most of its time learning details about the community transformation ministries in East Belfast to bring back best practices. In addition, they will visit Forthspring, our first partner; spend a day immersed in Celtic Spirituality and exploring the deep Christian roots of that tradition; learn about a unique prison ministry; and worship. DONATIONS FOR TYPHOON HAIYAN RELIEF: 100% of your donations to United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) goes directly to the area affected by the disaster. Within Our Church CHRISTMAS CONCERT COOKIE ELVES: Volunteers are needed to put out cookies, coffee and punch on Saturday December, 7 and Sunday, December. CHRISTMAS CONCERT PRODUCTION STAFF/SET BUILDERS: Volunteers needed to help construct our set design for our 2013 Christmas Concerts. GREETERS NEEDED: Greeters reflect the love of Christ by being welcoming, hospitable, and gracious to each and every person who enters the St. Luke’s campus. CONNECTION POINT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Connection Points (in the Welcome Hall) are the hub of information and support. BE A BUDDY TO A CHILD WITH SPECIAL NEEDS: Buddy Break provides free respite care one Saturday morning or Friday evening a month for children/young teens with special needs and their siblings. OHANA: We are seeking individuals to serve on the OHANA leadership team that will help design and implement our monthly gatherings where families can connect.
