Advanced Machine Learning and Concepts MQF LEVEL

6

STMARTINS.EDU/COMPUTING

TOTAL CREDITS: 7ECTS

This unit follows SMc20386: Introduction to Intelligent Systems, giving learners a wider spectrum of how intelligence is built in systems and how advanced machine learning techniques work hand in hand to exhibit intelligence in machines. The learner is exposed to further learning algorithms and various concepts and tools that are important to mould a given problem to fit known solutions. At the end of this unit the student will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to: — analyse a given problem and decide on the best approach to take to solve the problem; — decide on the pre-processing and post-processing needed on the dataset; — formulise a problem in such a way to be compatible with the learning algorithm and the techniques being used to address the problem; — support the problem and/or solution/s with the aid of visualization tools. The assessment for this unit will be computed using the following weighting system: — 30% Assessed Coursework — 70% Examinations
