Through this industrial placement programme, a designated period of time (subject to employer availability but not less than 190 hours) on site, carrying tasks assigned by and under the supervision of an expert in an industrial company. As interns, students can experience carrying tasks within an industrial context. Industrial Placement gives students the opportunity to meet professionals and better understand the work culture. One can ask questions, find out the challenges professionals face, and learn from their experience. Above all, this is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their academic background at the workplace. The more experience and dedication students demonstrate in their field of interest, the more attractive they will be as candidates in the future. At the end of this unit the student will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to: — perform duties in a supervised environment; — identify issues and/or questions and put them forward to their supervisors to attain help in a given situation; — prepare report as needed regarding the status of a particular task; — to work on deliverables within an industrial context. The assessment for this unit will be computed using the following weighting system: — 70% Report — 30% Presentation
