Having addressed the fundamental ideas behind storytelling in Storytelling I: Traditional Media, this level 3 unit covers the realtime adaptation of narrative to interactive experiences through the programming of electronic narrative generation and interactive narrative structures. Contents include: Theoretical Issues of Narrative in Interactive Media; Interactive storytelling in noncomputer based media; Branching Narratives; Emergent Narratives and Collaborative Storytelling. At the end of this unit the student will have acquired the responsibility and autonomy to: — design a narrative that affords interaction; — select the proper interactive storytelling approach that fits a narrative. The assessment for this unit will be computed using the following weighting system: — 70% Assessed Coursework — 30% Examinations
