The Scholar Program, a key tenant of our Strategic Plan, provides ongoing scholarships to Middle School students each year. We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to your generous support, we have added one scholar for the 20232024 school year, for a total of five scholars next school year. This accomplishment would not have been possible without your unwavering commitment. By investing in the Scholar Program, you have transformed the lives of these students and their families and positively influenced the entire St. Mary’s community. Our mission is to create a lasting impact on the lives of deserving students by offering transformative educational experiences within the St. Mary’s community. Thanks to your generosity, here are some key highlights and achievements demonstrating our remarkable progress.
St. Mary’s proudly enrolled four scholar students in our Middle School this past academic year. These students continue to thrive in our supportive environment, and we would like to share some notable highlights from their time at St. Mary’s:
• Three scholars participated in at least one sport, showcasing their talent and sportsmanship.
• All scholars improved their academic grades throughout the year, reflecting their commitment to intellectual growth.

• All four scholars participated in intersession, enriching their educational experiences beyond the classroom.
• All four scholars attended their grade level Field Studies to Catalina Island, Yosemite National Park and Washington, D.C.
We have established a successful partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Aliso Viejo to identify prospective students for the Scholar Program. We provide opportunities throughout the year for prospective students to come to campus to enjoy St. Mary’s activities, like the Spring Musical or sporting events. Each year we continue to experience increased interest and applications for the program. Our application process focuses on finding the best-fit students that will succeed and thrive at St. Mary’s and whose families fully commit to supporting this significant opportunity. We are currently working on securing additional partnerships to broaden our reach further and offer deserving students the chance to become a part of the St. Mary’s community.

Our first St. Mary’s Scholar recently completed her freshman year at a prestigious local independent high school, where she excelled in academics, sports, and social activities. As a result of her experience at St. Mary’s, this remarkable student became a confident and highly engaged learner, preparing her for the challenges of high school. Her accomplishments in high school serve as a testament to the transformative impact of the Scholar Program. With your continued support, we can provide more students with similar opportunities to achieve their full potential.
One of the ways that we can provide support in perpetuity to our scholar students and the program is by creating and securing funding for an endowment. We are actively researching what this can look like. If you are interested in further supporting this effort, we would welcome your involvement.
