The display village you’re visiting is likely to have a printed guide to the homes on show that will help with this process – so be sure to pick one up. It is also a great idea to do some online research before your visit.
Most display villages are located near a community park so consider taking a moment to reflect on your visit or release any built-up energy if the kids are in tow. Remember to enjoy your visit and get excited about the process of shopping for a brand new home!
Each display home has an experienced building representative on hand to explain anything you need to know and answer your questions. Take a business card and follow up any queries you might have after your visit.

Be sure to take the time to give each home the attention it deserves. If your time is limited or the kids are losing interest, it is wise to make a second visit rather than rush through your inspection.
Trying to remember the details of your visit can be a daunting task. Take notes while you’re at the display village to reflect on once you leave – these could also be invaluable when it comes time to discussing ways to personalise your home with your builder. During your visit, try to picture yourself actually living in the home. Stand at the kitchen bench, take a seat in the living room, or enjoy the outdoor or alfresco entertainment area.
Plan your visit in advance by envisioning what sort of home is going to meet your needs. Have a clear idea of your necessary requirements and what elements might be on your wish list. If you already have a block of land in mind then find out which display homes would be appropriate for the location.
