Discover Assumption DISCOVERY DAY Fall 2019

Light the way.

Welcome to Discovery Day! Greetings, WE ARE SO GLAD you have joined us for Assumption’s Discovery Day. Today is an opportunity to experience first-hand the Assumption College community and in particular, to discover the academic opportunities available to you here. As a college founded in 1904 by the Augustinians of the Assumption, the College provides students with a values-based education rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition which forms graduates known for critical intelligence, thoughtful citizenship and compassionate service. At Assumption, we foster an environment that encourages the support, friendship, respect and a deep sense of fulfillment that emerges from the premise that all students have their own individual path to discover and explore over their four years here and beyond. Students are encouraged to identify their gifts and talents, to find their independence, to explore their vocation and to look for ways to better the world around them. At Assumption, that’s what we call lighting the way. We have programs and partnerships in place to position you for success, including: • Potential to perform research side-by-side with engaged and inspiring faculty • Dedicated Career Development and Internship Center staff who will work with you beginning in your first year • The ability to expand your worldview through study abroad, including at Assumption’s own campus in Rome, Italy • Access to countless internships and jobs in Worcester, MA, New England’s second largest city and home to 35,000+ college students • A new and one-of-a-kind partnership with the Worcester Red Sox which will create internships, scholarships, and so much more for Assumption students Today’s Discovery Day program was designed with you in mind – to give you a more in-depth look at campus life and the classroom experience. I encourage you to engage with the Assumption community throughout the day. We are here to answer any questions and to give you our own insights into the transformative experience you can expect as an Assumption student. We offer an Early Action option for students who know that Assumption is one of their top choices. I hope that you will consider applying Early Action and look forward to reviewing your application. Enjoy your day, and I look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Michael DiPiazza Director of Undergraduate Admission
