ENGLISH & MATHS They may be the skills that we all take for granted but believe it or not we all use English and maths every day, even without thinking about it.

That is why we believe it is part of our job to help make sure all of our students have a good grasp of the basics and the qualifications to match. For students under 19 it is now a Government requirement that you keep working towards these core GCSEs if you haven’t already achieved grade 9-4/A*-C. These are key skills that all employers value and that is why at SRC Bede Sixth Form we want to help you make the grade. Achieving a pass grade at GCSE English and Maths is a mandatory requirement if you want to study an A level programme.

The literal meaning of the word sociology is the science of society. The interaction of people, ourselves, as members of society is what sociology is about. Social events and changes do not occur by accident. Sociology attempts to bring a systematic understanding to our knowledge of what goes on around us - locally, nationally and even internationally. Using a variety of real life case studies and theories and applying recognised research methods the sociologist sets off to try and understand our human condition a little better.
