Two interest rate reductions, the abolishment of the mortgage serviceability rate (by APRA) & a record low period of properties hitting the market. All of this has significantly improved buyer confidence in the area. In reality, we are probably entering a slow growth period - low growth in employment and inflation is likely to see a slow, steady recovery. How this impacts the real estate market overall remains to be seen, though it is a good time to be buying and selling. Buying because there are some great deals out there right now with interest rates at record lows and selling as there is buyer confidence in the market again.
