News from St Mary’s Church

We are looking forward to our annual walk through Holy Week alongside Jesus and one another which culminates in the joy of Easter morning. In addition to our usual Sunday and weekday services, your parish church of Stotfold and Fairfield is holding these services to any of which you are very welcome:

10 April Sunday 4.00pm. Families at Four Palm Sunday Service. This service is open to all. It is an opportunity for families from our Thursday morning baby and toddler group, our monthly Sunday afternoon Tea Time Praise Service and children from our weekly Sunday School to join together and worship.

10 April Sunday 6.00pm. Stations of the Cross 11 April Monday 7.30pm. Holy Week reflection and Compline 12 April Tuesday 7.30pm. Holy Week reflection and Compline 13 April Wednesday 7.30pm. Tenebrae service. ‘Tenebrae’ is Latin for shadows. The aim of the Tenebrae service is to reflect on the emotional aspects of the passion story. It begins with the church in candlelight, with as many candles as there are readings, and ends with the church in darkness and silence. 14 April Maundy Thursday Last Supper meal 7.30pm. 14 April Thursday 9.30pm Stripping of the altars. 15 April Friday 2.00pm Good Friday Hour before the Cross. Bible readings, reflection and music.

16 April Saturday 7.30pm. Easter Eve – Service of Light and Renewal of Baptism Vows. 17 April Sunday 6.30am Churches Together Sunrise Service at the Beacon in Stotfold Cemetery. 17 April Sunday 10.00am Easter Day Service.
