WE ARE BACK AGAIN AT THE HOME OF NONLEAGUE FOOTBALL
PAUL M USGROVE SP ON SOR E D BY

We welcome you all to Greens Meadow this afternoon. We extend this to the players, staff and committee of Heybridge Swifts. We are back again at the home of non-league football off the back a very hard game against Lowestoft Town. This was a game I was looking forward to see where we are at levels wise. I was pleased with how we played and this also gives us another night under the lights against professional outfit Ipswich u18/23’s which is a great for the club. Todays game will be a hard challenge for us and o hope the crowd can again be vocal and spur the team on. You should all be very proud of yourselves for making a huge difference. We know there is still room for improvement and we are looking for all the small gains to get the extra percentages required to continue our push. With a lot of games coming thick and fast this is a huge challenge for everyone.
Dom Doherty has left us and move to pastures new. We wish him all the very best. Craig Parker and Jack Ainsley are both back on the bench for minutes We are moving in the right direction and we have 15 games left. I hope with your continued support we can all push together to see how far we can go. Please keep showing your continued support for the whole club and teams as it’s massive to us all on match days. Muzzy

STOW TOWN 2 LOWESTOFT 0 TUES 18TH JANUARY 2022 Match Report: Iain van der Ree
STOWMARKET OVERCOME HIGHER LEAGUE OPPOSITION TO SECURE A PLACE IN THE NEXT ROUND AGAINST IPSWICH TOWN High flying Stowmarket entertained step 3 side Lowestoft in the first round of the Suffolk Premier Cup on Tuesday evening as the mist descended on 218 hardy souls in attendance at Greens Meadow. It was the Old Gold and Blacks however that lifted the gloom from the start, as Paul Musgrove’s side pressed high up the pitch causing palpable concern in the visiting defences. Stow took just 10 minutes to open the scoring, when in-form Bermudan International Willie Clemons weaved his way into the box putting the ball into the back of the net with a self-assured strike. Despite Stow having much of the first half possession, it was a rare excursion by Lowestoft into opposition territory that saw James Bradbrook having to make a magnificent diving save to keep the score line at 1-0 at half time. As the second half kicked off, it became apparent that Stowmarket weren’t going to settle on just defending a one goal lead, ruthlessly putting the Trawlerboys on the backfoot. It didn’t take long for Stow striker Luke Brown, in acres of space inside the box, to collect the ball and send it sailing in the roof of the net. With the wind knocked out their sails, Lowestoft showed little sign of urgency, allowing Stow to manage the remainder of the half to secure a second-round tie against Ipswich Town. Stowmarket face Heybridge Swifts on Saturday afternoon at Greens Meadow in the Isthmian League North.

RESERVES
This weekend we welcomed a very strong Walsham res side to Greens Meadow. After not playing since 4th of December with COVID and unplayable pitches. We started the game on the front foot took the game to Walsham and took a deserved lead with a cool calm finish from top scorer Jack Wharton-Richardson. W e dominated the middle of the park for the rest of the first half with Alex Clarke, Jack Ainsley and Dom Docherty dictating the play. Returning to goal Ryan Capon with nothing much to do and was a perfect first 45 mins going in 1-0 up but deserved to be more, second half started with Walsham trying to get back into the game but after weathering the pressure with great defending by a make shift back line due to injuries captain James Graham marshalling his back line superbly we finally got the second with a great header from captain Graham that settled us down until the 65th minute returning Ryan capon pulled up with a injury meaning defender Sam Blewitt stepped up to go in between the sticks and produced a couple of fine saves. We held on for a deserved 3 points in a difficult month of fixtures we next play on Tuesday 25th January away at halstead another difficult game to look forward too up the stow .
