The StoTherm system family comprises tried-and-tested external wall insulation systems. You can respond flexibly to the diverse requirements of your project without having to forego the security of a tested solution that has approval under building inspection requirements.

StoVentec rainscreen cladding facades
The StoVentec system combines the building physical advantages of a ventilated facade with virtually unlimited colour shade, texture, and material design possibilities. This tried-and-tested system with European Technical Approval can even be used to realise designs with heavy cladding on ceiling areas (i.e. overhead).

The StoCleyer B format as well as the width of the butt and bed joints have a significant influence on the overall effect of the facade when choosing / developing the laying pattern for your project.

Notes and tips
Joint
In masonry bonds, butt and bed joints are used, among other things, to compensate for the production-related tolerances of StoCleyer B. The joint widths also have a strong influence on the overall appearance of the facade, however (see page 7). For the StoCleyer B shown in the manual, a joint width of 12 mm was used for the butt and bed joints.
Movement joints
StoCleyer B can be applied to the StoTherm and StoVentec insulation systems without movement joints.
Associations
StoCleyer B are replicas of genuine bricks. To get as close as possible to the impression of a genuine material, we recommend using commonly available bricks or brick bonds.
Application
You should plan work on the facade according to the path of the sun and avoid direct sunlight. Do not store the StoCleyer B below 10 °C (increased risk of fracture).
Complex bond patterns increase the difficulty of application.
We recommend taking the StoCleyer B from different boxes to ensure a uniform appearance after application. If using different batches or additional (later) deliveries, carry out a visual comparison before application in order to identify possible differences. In the case of StoCleyer B that are manufactured according to project or customer specifications, carry out a visual comparison with the corresponding pattern before application in order to identify possible differences.
In the case of complex bond patterns, we recommend laying out the elements on a horizontal surface in accordance with the specified pattern / installation plan prior to application.
If possible, start work on a facade side that is not directly visible, as the processes within the team will improve and become more coordinated over the course of the project. 4–6 elements are placed in the fresh adhesive bed in the grid areas that have been created. The elements are
carefully aligned (joint pattern) and pressed down by hand. Warning: if pressure is only applied to parts of the surface, this will be visible in the result!
Make sure that no Sto-Klebe- & Fugenmörtel gets onto the surface of the elements. If the surface is soiled with bonding and pointing mortar, wash it off immediately with water. Smaller areas of soiling can be carefully scraped off after curing.
In contrast to conventional wall coverings such as brick and stone, there is no need for a separate pointing process with StoCleyer B. Immediately after the elements are embedded, the bonding and pointing mortar is smoothed with a paint brush or jointing iron (lancet).
For a slurrying finish, we recommend a filling paint coat (e.g. with StoColor Silco Fill or StoColor S fein / grob). Two coats of paint or slurry should be applied.
StoCleyer B: wide range of design options
StoCleyer B is a quick and easy solution for creating insulated facades with an authentic brick look. With more than 130 surfaces across seven groups, StoCleyer B opens up a wide range of design options.
The material properties of the resin brick slips, which have been optimised specifically for insulation systems, enable your drafts to be transformed into efficient and reliable solutions. And all this regardless of whether the resin brick slips are being used on an external wall insulation system or a rainscreen cladding facade.
