Supplementary measures for climate protection
The roof of the office building has been extensively planted with vegetation. As well as being a design feature, it provides many ecological benefits.
Insulation effect The vegetation improves the roof‘s thermal protection. The green roof helps to reduce heat loss in winter and prevent the building from overheating in summer.
Improved microclimate Thanks to evaporation and the resulting cooling effect, the planting helps improve the microclimate.
Reduced CO2 concentration in the air During photosynthesis, the plants take in carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air and release oxygen. This therefore reduces the CO2 concentration in the air.
Retention of rainwater The high water retention effect of the green roof causes a proportion of the rainwater to evaporate, returning it to the natural water cycle. At the same time, it reduces the amount of the rainwater that has to be conducted away.
Bicycle parking enough space
As part of the construction work, new bicycle parking for the company‘s employees has been created. In order to promote the bicycle as an environmentally friendly and healthy alternative to the car, the parking facilities have been produced to a high quality. Electric vehicle charging station regional eco-friendly quiet
As part of the “Southern Black Forest Nature Park – Pilot region for electric mobility” pilot project, a charging station for electric vehicles has been set up in the company‘s staff car park. The charging station is supplied with green electricity generated from 100 % hydropower from the region. The electricity is provided to employees and visitors free of charge and represents one measure where the company is making an active contribution towards protecting our climate.
