ELIGIBILITY:

˙Club Members, Spouses, and Dependents

˙Junior Sailors and Members of the Sailing Center

Selection Criteria for Individuals Who:

˙Have distinguished themselves and brought honor to the SPYC by outstanding performance in national/international yachting competition

˙Have accomplishments in race or event management of such significance as to draw national/international recognition

˙Through long and noteworthy service in yachting activities, distinguish themselves to an unusual and unique degree

˙Special awards are given to Cruisers who have embarked on long journeys in 2023

Meet the criteria for the following trophies:

Donald D. White Cruising Trophy: For a Cruiser who has embarked on a long journey in 2023

Pat Seidenspinner Award:

For a female SPYC member who advocates the Club to improve its stature within the membership, sailing community, or other organizations, who is seen as a mentor to others

America’s Great Loop:

In recognition of those who have completed one or more “Loops” around the Eastern third of the U.S. via designated routes

World Champions Trophy:

To members who have won the World Championships as Skippers in One Design Regattas or Match Racing World Finals

Circumnavigation Award:

To members who have traveled great distances outside the U.S.

Entertainment Recap - by Chirs Fraser

As Chair of the Entertainment Committee, we want to provide a variety of special events for our members, by our members. Our goal is to enhance your membership experience with fun and enjoyable events at the Club. Also, we are always looking for new ideas. Please email your thoughts to member.services@spyc.org and she will get them to us. Additionally, make sure to check out the bands in the lounge for “Final Friday” of each month. We had several great events last month and in September:

September 16th: HAVANA NIGHTS End of Summer All White Party; October 14h was our Fall Poker Run hosted at the PAG Clubhouse; October 26th, our first show by Gutenplan the Mentalist/Magician, where he amazed the crowd of 145 with his skills; October 27th was the Scotch vs Bourbon & Cigar Night.

. December 8th: 2nd Annual Ugly Sweater Party & White Elephant Gift Exchange

. January 5, 2024: Meet your Flag and Board Members Happy Hour Mix & Mingle

. January 13, 2024: Scottish Robert Burns Supper - Joint event with St Andrew's Society of Tampa Bay and SPYC

February 24, 2024: Dueling Pianos is BACK!! Plus more to come, as we have another fun year planned.
