Hello Friends.....the dog days of summer are almost behind us! Members were welcomed back to the downtown Clubhouse on August 8th. The Club was extremely busy on opening day. A brief recap of shutdown projects completed this year include the moving of the bakery kitchen downstairs, as well as relocating the catering kitchen from downstairs to upstairs. The shutdown also gave our hard-working staff some much needed time to rest, relax and get ready for the upcoming busy season.

As a reminder, the Beach Club at Pass-a-Grille will be closed for shutdown from September 5th through September 20th, and will reopen on September 21st. Thank you for your patience during this period.

MEMBER INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS - scheduled for September 5th & September 28th - You are encouraged to attend if you would like more information on the Master Facilities Plan. This will be a great opportunity for you to meet with Club leadership to get all of your questions answered. The meetings will be held from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the ballroom.

Thank you for a great year of membership. As of this writing, our membership totals 2,500. We have now reached our membership target. We look forward to the upcoming start of the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The Annual Meeting and Board of Directors Election will be held on October 10th. Additionally, we will be holding two “Meet the Candidate” nights. The first event will be held on September 26th followed by another event on October 3rd. The Nominating Committee has presented a great slate of candidates. Please plan to come and get to know them.

Some other important dates to save on your calendar: October 14th: Fall Poker Run – A casual and fun boating event starting from the Pass-a-Grille Clubhouse; October 22nd: Member Appreciation Party – This event is complimentary to all members and is the Club’s chance to say “thank you” for your membership; November 11th: Commodore’s Ball 2023 – The premier Yacht Club social event. Happy Fall to you, our valued members!

Cordially, Brian K. Smith, Commodore
