MUSIC We have had a very special week preparing for our Christingle service in the Minster. The choir made me so proud with their beautiful singing. Mr Walker commented on how tricky their first piece was, there were a lot of difficult words for the children to sing and the children singing ah to the tune of Silent Night had to hold their tune strongly. Thank you to our singing teacher Ms Cunnold who has supported the choir this term, she thought the children really did rise to the occasion at the Minster. Our Reception and Year 1 children came out to the front to sing and sign Little Donkey, they sang clearly and didn't appear to be daunted by the huge building or the large congregation. They were ably supported by our fantastic Year 1 bell ringers Harriet, Albie, Rory and Olivia. Thank you to Mrs Bateson who helped them to play in the correct place! We rounded the term off with House Singing, a really fun way to come together as a school community. It's lovely for the children to work with their friends from different year groups and the teachers and teaching assistants all get into the spirit of it too! The final musical item of the Christmas term is always The 12 Days of Christmas. Each class has a line, the staff are 5 Gold Rings and Reception all sing the 12th day. It has become quite a tradition at 2-8 and really starts the Christmas holidays off! I hope you all have a restful holiday with your families. Thank you for all your support with music practice this term, it really is appreciated! Have a lovely Christmas! Mrs Hayden
