We have been celebrating our wonderful Dad's this week. We have read books about dad's and discussed all the funny and fun things that our Dad's say and do that makes them so special.

The Acorn's drew their dad's portraits, and we were delighted to see all the unique expressions on their dad's faces. We wish all the dad's a wonderful Father's Day this Sunday and we hope they will enjoy eating and sharing their 'sweet' bowties.

In celebration of the hot sunny weather, we did some extra special water play activities outside. We designed little boats out of pool noodles and watched them float and move in the breeze. We played with water syringes and bubbly water, which ended up being a great way to cool each other down. It also made the Acorn's little hand muscles work hard when pulling the syringes to draw up the water and then squirt it.

This week we also explored the different modes of transport that we might use to get to a holiday destination. We used our imagination playing at the Tuff tray airport. We built an aeroplane at Forest School out of logs and wooden pallets, and the children enjoyed handing out and punching tickets for our indoor classroom train.
