i see kirkstall people

i see kirkstall people In 2010 I was invited, along with other members of my photo group to capture the thirtieth anniversary of the community-run Kirkstall Festival. The images within this booklet form my response to the commission; the resulting image set was collated, along with those of others, into an archive running to thousands of images from the day. From this archive the six piece exhibition was curated and exhibited at East Street Arts. For a while I’ve wanted to display some of these images in book format; I hope you enjoy these and get osme of the feel of this wonderful, British, occasion.

Notes... The earlier shots were all taken on a film camera - a Voigtländer Brilliant. I used to shoot film, but generally prefer digital these days - however I like my little trials. That worked really quite well - the impact the old (thirties) camera had resulted in some quite wonderful imagery. The remaining shots we on my standard camera. The following page is from the SixPiece one-night only exhibition of the photographs taken by all the contributing photographers. I enjoyed the images and my own photography so, by way of thank you I’d like to thank everyone who contributed to making this a success - but especially to Ken Stratford for the invite.
