September 15th Powder Puff kicked off with the Freshman VS Sophomores at 5:30, the Juniors VS Seniors following at 7pm on Millennium Field. The Sophomores beat the Freshmen 18-7. The Freshmen made a good showing, considering they had zero subs and only 1 day of practice!
This was the first time playing Powder puff football for both the Freshmen and the Sophomores. Sophomore Paola Valdez commented, “I was very anxious, I feel so excited though, because we won! I didn’t think we would win because none of us play flag football like that.”

The Senior game was intense, despite the 25- 0 defeat for the Juniors. The Senior team is undefeated in their 4 years of playing Powder Puff football, so it is nothing to feel bad about. The juniors managed to play hard the entire game, even making some long runs almost to the touchdown zone. Before the game, senior, Sayuri Ishikawa, exclaimed her excitement over Powder Puff being able to happen after coming off this pandemic year: “It feels really good, I’m glad that we actually were able to have a senior year. Hopefully we could beat the Juniors this year, take a W for our senior year!
