did say the football would get me and as I’m writing this I am anticipating the England match tonight and thats only because my boy Daniel Sturridge is about to represent.
He sure is the nations number 1 right now and he even has upped the sales of Subway chicken teriyaki baguettes because of the marketing campaign he did with them.

The pressure is on as England demand he scores a hat trick against Uruguay so with all the hype surrounding the boy flying the flag for the new generation we had to make him the front page of Street Cred.
es to the hype of Daniel who scored that 1 goal last week. I tell you what this has got to be the most I’ve been interested in football since Beckham played in 1997.

Ticket Sales Woes for Bey and Jay Z
I
t looks like it might not be all perfect in the world of Beyonce and Jay Z as their joint tour “On The Run” has suffered with low ticket sales, with even her hometown show still with seats up for grabs. Sources are blaming the low sales on Beyonce’s single sales, which have been declining. Ticketmaster shows tens of thousands of tickets still available, with the tour itself set to kick off in the States next week.
GRIMEY NEWS
The 21 date tour may have managed to sell out a couple of venues, they have yet to even sell out the opening night in Miami. ‘Beyonce’s Album had a big first month with Drunk In Love, but the last several singles have tanked on the charts,’ the source told RadarOnline. ‘If you’re launching a stadium tour, you have to have airplay, and she’s had no hits lately on the radio.’
1D Louis launches 2m Campaign for beloved Donny

-Direction band-member and, footballer, Louis Tomlinson has launched a campaign in support of his favourite team, Doncaster Rovers FC. In partnership with previous Rovers Chairman, John Ryan, he’s asking fans and football supporters to help raise £2million and support his ambitions for his club. “This is all about the football,
the community and restoring the excitement and desire to making Doncaster Rovers the most exciting club in Yorkshire,” said Louis. Tomlinson, who plays for the Donny’s reserves, and Ryan set up the ‘Tomlinson Ryan Trust’ to support the club’s ambitions on the football field, to develop its schools, youth and charity programmes and to grow the club as a brand, locally and internationally.

Dire DYER IS an East End DISAPOINTMENT
GRIMEY NEWS
O
k ladies we know you love him but what do you love him for? Its because of the bad boy image and top lad persona. Now we know his new role in Eastenders he is trying to go outside the box a bit with the soft boy image but my god ain’t it boring. If the bad boy role suits you then just do it. We so need a better story line as you really are “Dyer” at the moment. Lets see you go up against Phil or turn into a nasty piece of work or we’re switching off.

H
is soulful tones have dominated the airwaves lately with his hit single ‘All Of Me’, which has seen sales of over 500,000 in the UK and is spending its ninth week in the Top 10. It’s also sold a staggering 3 million in the US. Now, John Legend has announced a series of UK shows. John’s Gold-certified fourth album ‘Love in the Future’ has stormed the UK and sold over half a million copies, as well as being nominated for a Grammy this year for Best
R’n’B Album. Its lead single ‘All Of Me’ also scored him his first ever US number one single. John has always been known for his heartfelt songwriting and beautiful use of melody, and ‘Love In The Future’ was no exception. It also saw him explore new musical territory by working with the likes of Rick Ross, Kimbra and Seal, and cemented his position as one of today’s most intriguing and talented musicians. He’s now set to bring his live show to the UK, with a stop at Birmingham’s NIA.

S
o the Good Food Show Summer and Gardeners’ World Live have once again come to an end. A beautiful 4 days, looked on favourably by the weather, saw the best in food, drink, home and garden take to Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. Featuring a Birmingham City Council backed “Bull Ring Mar-
ket” showcasing the best butchers, fishmongers, sweet stalls, greengrocers and more from the iconic markets, and leading attendees through their wares, including meat cutting demonstrations from A&P Doherty, who were on hand for any of your meat-related queries. Alongside the Markets were offerings of food and drink from
across the world, including cheeses, liquors, oils, butters, meats, spices and more. For those Americans who are homesick for the Land of the Free, there was even an American Import stall providing that much needed access to some of the culinary “gems” that the USA has to offer. With celebrities from both the
food and gardening worlds giving talks, cocktail classes, and growing classes all available, there was something for everyone at the Good Food Show Summer and Gardeners’ World Live 2014. If you’ve not been to the show before, make sure you book your tickets for the winter show, it’s not one to miss!

Beauty Secrets BEAUTY SECRET #5: TO LOOK NATURAL, KEEP IT NATURAL! Many people think that, to achieve a natural, flawless look, you have to apply lots of makeup and layers. This is a BIG mistake. The more makeup you use, the less natural the look and the less your skin will be able to breath. For a perfect natural, flawless base to apply your makeup, here are some tips: 1) CLEANSE AND TONE PROPERLY It sounds obvious but many people don’t do this. Ever wondered why your makeup doesn’t last all day? Or why your foundation ‘melts’ off your face? This is why! 2) FOUNDATION As we get older we don’t tend to change our products, or we just choose the wrong ones, in an attempt to achieve younger looking skin. This has the opposite effect and can draw attention to fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes and actually make us look OLDER! Nobody wants that! As you get older, it’s important to wear the right type of makeup for your skin type and tone. This means you can wear less layers of makeup and still look even better than you did before! Here’s how… - I recommend that you just use a primer to fill any lines and to even the skin tone. - Follow this with a tinted moisturiser to achieve an all over youthful glow. - If you have dark circles un-
with Gemma Aldous
der the eyes, have blemishes or slight uneven skin tone, then simply apply a concealer to the effect areas - not all over the face! - and blend it into the skin with a brush. Remember less is more! The less makeup you have on, the younger you’ll look. If you find you have a slight shine to the skin then apply a loose powder. Tip: Try to avoid any areas with fine lines as this will just sit in these making them more noticeable. 3) CONCEALER A BIG mistake that people make is applying concealer with your fingers. So many people do this but, for the best results, you really need to use the correct brushes. They are a great investment, time savers and will give you that flawless, long-lasting complexion. If do use your fingers though, the most common mistake we make is wiping the concealer onto the area, then we complain that the product isn’t working. News flash! That’s why it’s not working! You’re wiping the product away when you need to pat it to keep it in place. Clean, naturally flawless looking skin; big, wide eyes highlighted by fabulous eye-shadows and stunning lashes, all you need now is a touch of lip gloss and a smile and you’re ready to go. Enjoy!

We caught up with Una from The Saturdays ahead of their Greatest Hits tour to find out how things are going... Street Cred got to chat with the wonderful and humble Una of The Saturdays about their world tour and having sold more than 5 Million albums. Safely say that this is biggest female pop band since the Spice Girls and they are still hungry!!!!
How do you find being famous? UNA: At times up to today I cant believe it but we are like a family we all started out together and this was our dream and because we are close we handle it all well and support each other.
What do you look forward to most about touring? UNA: We love going on tour getting to see our fans and hear them sing our songs, that’s the most exciting part of being in the music business because you get to see your fans and you are able to share the love. The tour is really exciting and we will be performing all of our greatest hits - look out for the album.
Is it hard working with the band? what kind of petty things do you argue about? UNA: We don’t argue much like with any band there is the odd bicker but were very much a family.
How do you find being a star mother? UNA: It’s not as hard a many would think! I know how to balance the two, my work and personal life. COVER STORY
Daniel Sturridge FLYING THE FLAG FOR THE NEW GENERATION
A
but, after the demoralising 2-1 defeat against the South Americans, led by his equally high scoring Liverpool strike partner, Luis Suárez, Daniel has now fully developed as the go-to man from now on in.
The even more vital game against Uruguay proved a bridge too far for the young guns
Not over-cockiness, it’s the kind of self-confidence that has seen the Liverpool striker’s speedy rise to the top of his sport in this country and revered around the world as one of the games’ greatest today.
s England faced Uruguay, in the allimportant Group D. World Cup clash in São Paulo, expectations were high for the ‘Three Lions’ boys to overcome their South American nemesis, but for Daniel Sturridge it was another game in which he knows, as long as you give him the ball, he will score.
COVER STORY
Whatever you want to put his intense self-esteem down to, others around him in the England camp would do well to take a smidgen of the spades of confidence that has seen him emerge as the latest, and probably greatest, of the footballing family dynasty that has spanned the past thirty-plus years. Birmingham-born Sturridge, whilst taking the heaps of praise he is deservedly receiving, in his considerable stride, will always, in return, pay massive and untold praise to his mother, Grace, father, former Birmingham City player, Michael, his uncles, Simon, who to this day is still seen as an all-time legend at St. Andrews, as well as Stoke City, and Dean who was a goal-scoring hero at Derby County, Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and QPR, plus the coaches and mentors who saw in him, from a very
early age, what we are all seeing and admiring now. Not your archetypal ‘spoilt and over-paid mono-syllabic, monotone, self-centred footballer,’ theatre-loving Daniel is incredibly proud of his roots, is always mindful of the path he took in his meteoric rise to his present superstar status, from his humble beginnings growing up in the Newtown area of his home-town, being taken to matches, regardless of the destination, time, day, or weather, by his ever-supportive parents, and being forever thankful for everything he has achieved..Big small or whatever! The 24-year-old is gratitude is always expressed in abundance as he shows his deep Christian belief and personal relationship with God every time he scores a goal.
COVER STORY
It has to be said that he is enjoying a fantastic time expressing his religious convictions; he tweeted: “Thanks to God for allowing me to score 50 prem goals.” And after winning a Barclays Player of the Month award back in September: “I do all trough (sic) Christ who strengthens me” after reaching the milestone last season. He launched the ‘Sturridge Family Foundation,’ supporting the Faith Basic School foundation in Portmore, from whence his grandparents came, in St Catherine, Jamaica. A proud Sturridge said: “Our family has strong links in Jamaica, with both my grandparents being Jamaicans, so it is great to be able to give back to the local community.”
Via the Aston Villa academy to Coventry City, Manchester City and Chelsea, winning hordes of trophies and medals along the way, ‘Studger’ has always, more than anything, had faith in his unique ability and high expectations, carrying himself with great aplomb and humility: “I don’t see myself as a superstar,” he said. “I had a huge ambition to play for the best club in the world and now I’ve achieved that,” he continued. He joined Liverpool in January last year. A new breed in football, in this country; Daniel Sturridge is flying the flag for the new generation.

WHITE DEE’S COLUMN
‘White Dee’s’ Column
I
n case you all don’t know, I’m Dee from the street and I’m pleased to meet all you Street Cred readers. This is my 1st official column, so its probably going to be all over the place, but that’s how I am, all over the place. I am so honoured to even be asked to write a column, and I hope to bring you news about what’s happening in my life, and about new amazing talented young people that I have had the pleasure to meet, and also about some issues that I hold very close to my heart. Firstly my weekend consisted of attending Birmingham Pride, which I have been going to since Caitlin was in a pushchair and Mom was on her scooter, knocking everyone out of the way bless her. For obvious reasons, this year was a whole lot different to every other year I’ve gone. Birmingham Pride has been going for 18yrs and I’ve been going for 16 of them. Its a celebration of gay and lesbian rights and people from all over the country attend, whether they are gay, straight, black, white, asian or of any other denomination. They definitely know how to throw a party, and they do it in style. It definitely didn’t rain on the Birmingham Pride parade. I didn’t realise that so many people would recognise me, want a picture taken with me and Caitlin, ask where Gerrard was.
I can honestly say I must have had over 1000 pictures taken with some of the nicest people you could wish to meet. At the end of the day we all bleed the same colour, and Birmingham Pride showed the world how its done brummie style. We cant wait for next year, where its guaranteed to be bigger and better, and for the record Caitlin's favourite moment was meeting Conor Maynard and Katy B and mine was the amazing Angie Brown. On a more serious note, can you imagine losing a son, brother, father and 3 years later still be none the wiser as to what actually happened to him.
This is the case with Kingsley Burrell's family. Kingsley was walking with his young son, when an incident led to him calling the police for their help. How then was he arrested and sectioned under the Mental Health Act and
three days later he died. Kingsley had no history of any mental illness, he had so much to give, he had children who needed his guidance and are now fighting for justice for their dad. There are so many unanswered questions that need answering. Enough is enough, this family need to be able to grieve in the knowledge that Kingsley can finally rest in peace. So there it is then my 1st column done, I hope its all okay because I could go on forever. Well until next time, stay safe and keep thriving in all you do and follow me on twitter @therealdeekelly Much Love Dee
