Sometimes it pays to be a nerd! Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson just spent $70m on the most expensive house ever in Beverly Hills. The 35-year-old Swedish video game developer, who made a few bob after selling Mojang to Microsoft for $2.5bn, won a bidding war for the insanely luxurious house, reportedly beating out competition from Jay Z and Beyonce. What kind of Beverly Hills house does
$70m get you? Well, it has an automated 54 foot curved glass door in the living room that opens onto an infinity pool with iPad-controlled fountains and spectacular views. Oh, and cases of Dom Perignon were part of the deal. Crazy what you can get if your idea blows up, congrats on your new place Notch!

im Kardashian recently said she didn’t want her daughter to grow up spoiled. But perhaps she should run that past husband Kanye West, as the rapper has reportedly spent $74,000 on 18-monthold North’s Christmas presents this
year. An insider told Heat magazine that Kanye dropped $62,000 on a diamondencrusted tiara as well as $12,000 on a toy replica of his matte black SUV. Thats an impressive haul for anyone, let alone an 18 month old child!

WHATS ON
DARCY OAKE: EDGE OF REALITY Civic Hall, Wolverhampton 22 September In June 2014 over 200 million viewers tuned in to Britain’s Got Talent to witness the birth of a phenomenon: the unveiling of an electrifying new illusionist, Darcy Oake. From sleight of hand to death-defying escapades, this master magician grabbed the world’s attention, ushering in an exciting new era of an age-old art form. Darcy is a performance artist whose modern interpretation gratifies the hunger of audiences seeking spectacle and nail-biting feats of illusion. Inspired by classic sleights of hand techniques, Darcy transports the crowd to another dimension with exhilarating visuals and logic-defying exploits. He has since gone on to become an international magic champion and headlined at the iconic Magic Castle, made numerous international television appearances, toured the globe and will now headline his first ever UK tour this Autumn. “I couldn’t be more excited to tour
the UK and perform in so many amazing and historic venues. This country has been so welcoming that it’s starting to feel like home, and I can’t wait to share these new illusions with my fans, who have helped make 2014 such a tremendous year for me. Let’s make 2015 unforgettable,” he said. After wowing the judges in this year’s Britain’s Got Talent Darcy Oake is back on screen with his very own one-hour magic special, Darcy Oake: Edge of Reality (Saturday December, ITV). Hosted by Christine Bleakley, this magical extravaganza takes place at the historic Blackpool Opera House and is full of breath-taking, logic-bending illusions in the grand old tradition of stage magic fused with Darcy’s modern twist. Following the huge success of the live show Darcy is set to bring Edge of Reality on the road in 2015 with an exciting tour that gives his fans the opportunity to see his powerful skills up close and personal. In what promises to be a spectacular and unique live stage production, prepare to be amazed! The first leg of Darcy’s live tour will kick off in Sheffield and see him perform regionally across the UK with a grand finale at London’s Eventim Apollo.

Word on the street CHANTELLE
ARE YOU SWISH? S
W I S H meaning, according to Urban Dictionary online is an adjective to define fashion! I personally think SWISH is a verb, adjective and adverb – I SWISHINGLY SWISHED over to SWISH with my SWISHETTES! Ha! Ha! The weather isn’t SWISH at all! I would like to take this time to really think about your life and where it’s going! Is it where you want it to be or is it on the come up? Sometimes people can frown or raise their eyebrows at another man’s dreams, WHY? No matter how outlandish it may seem to one does not mean that mean that it is unachievable! I tell the adults and young people I work with all the time...
SPREAD YOUR WINGS AND FLY! Children, I have had the pleasure to work with, don’t get the metaphor and bring it back to harsh reality with a cheeky statement such as ‘I ain’t no butterfly, I can’t fly, I don’t wanna fly either,’ then they suddenly go off on a tandem and say ‘unless it’s in a plane I wanna go to Euro Disney or Disneyland but that’s far!’ Kids ay!
