So Much More Than A Print Magazine

A Paige From My Notebook...

Dear Readers,

As we embrace February and all its charm, or should I say “chill”, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the power of connection—both personal and professional. At Strictly Business, our mission is to help local businesses connect with their audience in ways that are impactful, meaningful, and lasting. In today’s fast-paced digital world, it’s easy to overlook the value of a timeless medium: print advertising.

Research continues to reveal the undeniable advantages of print advertising over its digital counterparts. Print offers a tangible, engaging experience that digital ads often struggle to replicate. Studies have shown that people spend more time reading printed materials compared to scrolling through digital ads. Print advertisements are not just seen—they’re felt, held, and interacted with, creating a sensory experience that builds trust and credibility.

community initiatives, and showcase leaders who are shaping our region’s future. These stories don’t just inform; they inspire. And in print, they live on—shared among colleagues, kept on coffee tables, and revisited over time.

As we celebrate the month of love, it’s also worth noting that February is a time to nurture relationships. Just as a thoughtful Valentine’s Day card can warm someone’s heart, a well-placed print ad can make your business unforgettable. Building genuine, lasting connections—whether in love or business—requires thought, care, and the willingness to invest in what truly matters.

not just seen—they’re felt, held and interacted with, creating a sensory experience that builds trust and credibility.

In fact, research from MarketingSherpa found that 82% of Americans trust print ads when making purchasing decisions, significantly higher than their trust in digital ads. Additionally, print ads are less intrusive, allowing readers to engage on their own terms, free from popups and distractions. For businesses aiming to make a memorable impression, print is the medium that resonates.

At Strictly Business, we pride ourselves on the unique power of print. Each month, our pages tell the stories of local businesses, highlight

Speaking of Valentine’s Day, don’t forget to take a moment this month to show appreciation for those you cherish most. Whether it’s a loved one, a friend, or a client, a little kindness goes a long way in strengthening relationships.

Thank you for your continued trust in Strictly Business. We are honored to serve as a platform for connecting our community and showcasing the incredible businesses that make Lincoln and Omaha thrive. Here’s to a February filled with success, connection, and a little extra love.

Warm regards,

Kacey Jayda Rowan Avery

MMC Contractors Entities, Part of MultiBranded National Construction Company Unites Around One Brand

The MMC Contractors entities nationwide — including in Omaha and Lincoln — recently rebranded as Cerris Systems, part of the national Cerris group of companies.

Since 2007, the Cerris Systems teams in Nebraska have been part of the same group of national construction services and has provided complex commercial mechanical and plumbing construction solutions. Their parent company, formerly known as MMC Corp, is now Cerris.

By uniting around a common brand name, the enterprise will become a stronger partner with its current clients and invite new ones into the fold by offering complex construction solutions nationwide. The organization has a strong legacy and a relationship-focused way of doing business, and it will continue to build the extraordinary by providing further establishing itself as a multi-faceted commercial construction capabilities firm.

There were no mergers or acquisitions involved in this rebranding effort, and the same team members remain ready to build the extraordinary for their clients and communities.

In addition to the MMC Contractors entities' rebrand to Cerris Systems, general contractor formerly known as MW Builders is now Cerris Builders, also part of the Cerris group of companies.

“While our name is changing, the way we do business remains grounded in nearly a century of experience, long-term relationships, deeply held values, and dedication to our craft,” says Jason Evelyn, CEO of Cerris. “From the initial idea to the first patient, student, resident or gigabyte, we are prepared to meet the building needs of tomorrow.”

Cerris began as a family-owned company in 1932. Through a dynamic blend of entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, quality craftsmanship, and teamwork, the enterprise has grown to include offices nationwide providing construction capabilities including general construction, MEP contracting and service, and building automation.

In 2002, MMC Corp purchased the company from its founding family and became 100% employee-owned. From humble beginnings rooted in the Midwest, growing to a nationwide presence, and a commitment to serving the communities where its employee owners work and live, the company is proud and excited to increase its power and reach in the market with the new Cerris brand.

Cerris is an Overland Park, Kansas-based, 100% employee-owned construction firm with 16 offices nationwide and more than $1.4 billion in revenue. It serves as the Strategic Center for its three Strategic Business Units (SBUs) comprising: Cerris Builders, Cerris Systems and Cerris Emerging Solutions. To learn more, visit cerris.com.

Heartland Family Service Hits 150 Years of Healing

Heartland Family Service’s vision is to build strong communities. Quite simply, it lends a helping hand to those who need it most. It offers services in a number of different areas. Those services include, but are not limited to, homeless outreach, mental health crisis care, therapeutic education, domestic violence and sexual assault survivor services, substance use treatment and problem gambling treatment. It has 20 locations across eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa, so it’s constantly making touch points across various communities. In fact, last year alone, it made more than 120,000 touch points.

It’s not very often a business, organization or agency can say they’ve been around for 150 years, but Heartland Family Service can say just that. In fact, it’s been around since 1875 and started in Omaha. The agency was founded by representatives from eight different Omaha churches to deliver essential services to people in need. Its original purpose was to provide missions work in addition to charity and relief and has expanded from there.

Heartland Family Service strives to stay as strong as it can as an agency. Its expertise isn’t just limited to one or two areas or fields; therefore, it’s in a position to help any person where they are in life. Mental health is a big deal right now. Sexual assault and domestic violence happen way too often, and people need a place they can turn to for safety. Homelessness is another big issue.

New services that have opened up this past year include the Heartland Family Service Nebraska Peer Center and the Crisis Stabilization and Resource Center. The Peer Center is a safe place for people looking to build bonds and friendships with others who may be living in a similar situation and facing similar barriers. The Crisis Stabilization and Resource Center serves five counties, including Sarpy and Douglas, and cares for people experiencing mental health crises. This care is designed to keep people out of the criminal justice system and inpatient hospital care.

Heartland Family Service has been honored with many awards through the years including:

• 2023, 2022, 2021, 2019, 2018: Best Counseling Clinic, Best of the Big O!

• 2020: HRAM IDEAL award for Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resource Association of the Midlands (HRAM)

• 2020, 2018: Best Counseling Service, Sarpy County People’s Choice Awards

Tell us a little about your business. - Allo is thought of as an Internet Provider. Not only are we much more than that but we also pride ourselves on being a customer service-based client-centric organization. Our president has grown our business based on the principle that if we take care of our customers, they will take care of us. Never has that been more true. We started in a small town in central Nebraska and have grown into one of the most recognizable names in the state. Our entire organization operates on an attitude of “take care of the customer” and “get it done.” Two things that I can deeply appreciate.

Over the years, it was my customers who introduced me to Allo. As I collaborated with them, they were fanatical about Allo and their services. I have always desired to work at an organization that has an incredible dedication to its most important principles.

We offer the highest quality internet and related services along with a full suite of technology, cybersecurity, networking and phone related services as well. They are enterprise grade services that are right sized for any business.

On an important side note, we also specialize in helping clients address PCI 4.0 compliance.

How did you get started in the business? - In 2017, I was introduced to the tech industry by a close friend. They recognized my passion for sales and introduced me to the wild world of technology sales. At the time I would have considered myself anything but tech savvy. Since then, I have truly embraced the life and have a strong passion to contribute to the industry.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? - Navigating my first year of sales in a highly competitive industry while obtaining my Professional Securities Licenses.

My first job in sales was for a large brokerage firm in Omaha, NE. It was a customer service based sales position, but you needed a strong understanding of the financial services industry to excel. Having no background in the industry I quickly realized I was in over my head. I had to toy with the idea that my first sales job might be my last. My first boss later confided in me that he did not think I was going to make it. However, due to a good attitude and incredible colleagues I went from a struggling contributor to the top 1% in my division the first year. The greatest lesson I learned in sales was “take care of your clients.”

Tell us a little about your family. - I have three girls (14, 10, and 9), a beautiful wife, and two cats. Honestly, we are dog people but do not have the bandwidth to take on anymore.

Right now, we are in the throes of three basketball teams, high school, careers, play dates, volunteering, finding time for each other and making sense of our perfectly chaotic life.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? - What the Aksarben Foundation is doing to overcome today’s workforce challenges and position Nebraska for future success inspires me. My wife is heavily involved, and I get to see first-hand the impact they have.

ANDREA

Tell us a little about your business. - At McGill Law, I specialize in family law cases, including litigation, as well as probate and estate matters. My family law practice primarily involves representing clients in court, helping them navigate complex and often emotionally charged situations. I also have a strong focus on probate, where I assist families in managing their loved ones’ affairs during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

How did you get started in the business? - My passion for law started at a young age when I was adopted. The experience made a lasting impression on me, as I saw firsthand the positive impact an attorney can have on someone’s life. That inspiration set me on a path to become a lawyer so that I could make a similar difference for others. Over time, I discovered my love for probate law because it allows me to ease the stress and anxiety families face while dealing with loss. It’s a vulnerable and emotional time, and I find fulfillment in being able to shoulder some of that burden for my clients.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? - The early years of an attorney’s career are incredibly demanding. There’s an immense amount to learn, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by imposter syndrome. For me, the biggest challenge has been developing the confidence to effectively advise clients and succeed in the courtroom. It’s a constant process of learning and growth, but it’s a rewarding journey.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? - For me, overcoming imposter syndrome has been a significant milestone. Building confidence and trusting myself as an attorney has been incredibly empowering. Being able to walk into a courtroom, stay calm and know that I am fully prepared to advocate for my clients is one of my proudest professional achievements.

Tell us a little about your family. - I come from a blended family and have three half-siblings, but I was raised as the oldest child— something that has definitely shaped my personality. I’m also a proud dog mom to two Yorkies named Ewok and Nomi, who are siblings and bring so much joy to my life.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? - I love to stay active, so a perfect day off would include a hot yoga or Lagree fitness class. It’s a great way to recharge and take care of my physical and mental health.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? - Most people don’t know that I’m adopted. It’s a significant part of my story and has played a major role in shaping who I am today.

Who inspires you? - My parents are my biggest inspiration. They’ve always supported me and instilled in me the values and work ethic that guide me both personally and professionally

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? - My favorite quote is from Jocko Willink: “Growth doesn’t happen in the comfort zone.” It’s a reminder to embrace challenges and push myself to continue evolving.

If our readers would like to contact you, how should they do so? - You can reach me at (402) 548-5418, via email at info@ McGillLawyers.com, or through our website at McGillLawyers.com. I’d be happy to help with any family law or probate-related needs.

BRANDON

Meet Brandon Zobel, Owner/CEO of ProsperSpark.

Tell us a little about your business. - ProsperSpark is a professional consulting team of about 30 experts, serving over 500 clients across the U.S. and Canada. We use technology to design and automate business tools, systems and processes, creating solutions that put businesses in charge of their data and systems—not the other way around.

Our expertise includes creating and streamlining complex Excel spreadsheets, building workflows in Airtable, enhancing functionality in Salesforce and integrating platforms. We use tools like Zapier and Make (as an official Make partner) to help businesses save time, reduce errors and unlock their full potential through efficiency and innovation.

How did you get started in the business? - I’ve had always had a passion for technology, personally and professionally. I knew that I wanted to solve problems with technology full-time, so I launched ProsperSpark in our toy room-turned-home office almost 7 years ago. What began as a solo venture to help a handful of clients streamline their processes has grown into a thriving business that has partnered with nearly 500 companies across industries, locally, nationally, and even a few globally.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?Scaling ProsperSpark while maintaining personalized service and quality has been my biggest professional challenge. Balancing this growth with ensuring that every project meets the high standards we’ve set requires ongoing effort, adaptability, and a strong commitment to our mission. Growing to serve over 500 businesses has pushed me to refine processes, build a strong team, and stay true to our core values.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? - Walking away from a stable corporate job to pursue my passion for helping businesses work smarter was daunting, but starting ProsperSpark opened the door to incredible growth. It’s been profoundly fulfilling to create something meaningful, make an impact for our clients, and build a legacy I’m proud to share with my family.

Who inspires you? - A number of people inspire me, but my parents are at the top of the list. They didn’t have much growing up, and we didn’t either—they raised my siblings and me on a modest income, making sacrifices to ensure we had what we needed, but they instilled great values in me. My late father worked very hard to provide for our family, and I know he would have loved seeing ProsperSpark grow. My wife and kids inspire me, too—I work hard so they have everything they need, and hopefully, most of what they want.

What local nonprofit organizations are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?Programs that provide access to quality education, mentorship, and opportunities for kids to discover their potential mean a lot to me— especially as a father who sees the importance of nurturing curiosity and creativity in young minds. I’m also deeply committed to fostering entrepreneurship. Serving on the board for the Fremont Creative Collective has been incredibly rewarding, and it’s inspiring to see a community come together to support and grow new entrepreneurs. HEIDI

Tell us a little about your business. - I love working with both new and repeat clients, and getting to know the personal stories behind each piece they want to create is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. Whether it’s designing a new engagement ring or redesigning a cherished heirloom from grandma, I find equal joy in bringing my clients’ visions to life. My favorite part of the process is the delivery—seeing them open the box for the first time, watching their smile and sometimes even sharing joyful tears. Those moments are why I love what I do and why creating meaningful, lasting pieces never gets old.

How did you get started in the business? - My first job in the jewelry industry was during college at Hands Jewelers in downtown Iowa City, IA, while I attended the University of Iowa. I started as a gift wrapper, creating their iconic three-tiered bows with a rose on top—look it up, it’s legendary! Over time, I worked my way up from gift wrapper to sales associate, then assistant manager and even a (mini) designer. It was an incredible experience where I learned the foundations of the jewelry business and customer service. I’m forever grateful for the wonderful mentors I had there, many of whom I still stay in touch with today. That experience laid the groundwork for everything I do now.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? - How to “wear” all the other hats in business that don’t pertain to jewelry and get them done when they are not always my strong suit.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? - Trusting in myself to take the jewelry business from part-time to full time while leaving behind a steady paycheck.

Tell us a little about your family. - I grew up in South Dakota and my husband, Kalvin, is from Michigan. We have two children together, Ava (8) and Henry (4). We moved to Bennington in 2018 from Davenport, IA. We have moved a few times over the years, but Bennington has become home to us now.

Who inspires you? - Leslie Fischer has been a monumental inspiration to me since making the leap into full-time entrepreneurship. As the founder of MARC, a local Omaha networking group, she has built an incredible community rooted in transparency, trust and mutual support among entrepreneurs and nonprofits. Thanks to her vision, members are eager to share advice and resources, fostering a sense of collaboration that I haven’t seen in any other networking groups I’ve been apart of. Her leadership and values she has instilled in MARC have profoundly shaped my journey and given me the tools and confidence to grow.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? - Genuine.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? - To be a wizard with a magical wand to clean and cook and use as needed. What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? - Rooted TableLiterally everything I’ve had there is amazing!

It’s a space meant for groups from two to 1,250 people! It’s the perfect mash-up of fun and square footage.

Estate planning is vital for everyone, but it becomes especially critical when facing a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Early planning ensures individuals’ wishes are legally documented while they can still make informed decisions.

Key Steps for Estate Planning with Alzheimer’s:

• Start Early: Alzheimer’s is progressive, making it harder to plan later. Acting promptly secures future decision-making according to personal preferences.

• Create a Durable Power of Attorney: This document allows a trusted agent to handle finances and legal matters if the individual becomes incapacitated.

• Establish a Healthcare Directive: Advance directives outline medical care preferences, while a healthcare proxy designates someone to make medical decisions when needed.

• Update or Create a Will or Trust: A will outlines asset distribution, while living trusts manage assets during life and after death, streamlining transitions and avoiding probate.

• Plan for Long-Term Care: Consider long-term care insurance or Medicaid planning to manage costly care needs.

• Communicate with Family: Open discussions about wishes and roles prevent future conflicts and ensure everyone is prepared.

The Alzheimer’s Association Nebraska Chapter is grateful for Lee Law Office for sharing these steps and guiding families through the complexities of estate planning with care and expertise. Contact Lee Law Office today to begin your plan by visiting LeeLawOffice.com.

Nebraska Joins the Nation of Lifesavers this Heart Month by Learning CPR

During February – American Heart Month – the American Heart Association is urging all Nebraska families to learn the lifesaving skill of CPR. More than 350,000 people experience cardiac arrests outside of a hospital every year. Unfortunately, 90% do not survive. Nearly 70% of cardiac arrests happen at home, so it is likely that the person who needs CPR will be a family member or friend.

According to the Association, more than 23,000 children experience cardiac arrest each year. Nearly 40% of those are related to sports, and nearly 20% occur in infants. By calling on the everyday heroes like parents, teachers and coaches who impact the lives of children every day, the Association hopes to create an environment where every child has the best chance of survival in a cardiac emergency.

“The truth is, if you are called to respond in a cardiac emergency, being prepared to step in with CPR may save the life of someone you love, even a child,” said Chris Shives, Executive Director, American Heart Association. “It’s up to all of us to make sure that our families, our students and our athletes are safe when it matters most.”

Joining the Nation of Lifesavers, an Association initiative focused on doubling the survival rate of cardiac arrest by 2030, is easier than ever with many CPR learning options available.

Across Nebraska, future lifesavers can:

• Take an online CPR course

• Learn and practice with a CPR Anytime Kit

• Watch a 60-second video to learn Hands-Only CPR

• Find a Heartsaver™ certification course near them or

• Attend the Omaha or Lincoln Heart and Stroke Balls

By 2030, the American Heart Association has pledged to double the cardiac arrest survival rate from just 10% to 20%.

The American Heart Association is the leading voluntary health organization devoted to a world of healthier lives for all. Learn more at heart.org.

Teen Entrepreneur and Mental Health Advocate Alejandra Wells to Be Featured on Scholastic Action Magazine’s February Cover

Alejandra Wells, the inspiring teenage entrepreneur and mental health advocate, has been selected as the cover story for Scholastic Action Magazine (action.scholastic.com) in February. Wells, the founder of Hiya, a teen-focused mental health brand that sells jewelry with a purpose, continues to break barriers and empower youth through her advocacy.

The 16-year-old founded Hiya in 2023 to provide encouragement and support for teens struggling with mental health challenges. The brand operates under a “Buy One, Give One” model, where for every bracelet purchased, another is given to a teen in need of encouragement. Hiya has evolved into more than just a jewelry business—it is now a platform for open conversations about mental health and self-care among teens.

“I started Hiya because I wanted to create something meaningful that could bring hope and start important conversations about mental health,” said Wells. “Being featured on the cover of Scholastic Action Magazine is an incredible honor, and I hope my story inspires other young people to believe in themselves and know they are not alone.”

Scholastic Action Magazine is a nationally recognized publication that reaches thousands of students, educators and parents across the country. The February issue will highlight Wells’ journey, her mission with Hiya and how young people can take action in their communities to support mental health awareness.

This recognition adds to Wells’ growing list of achievements, including her work with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Mentor Nebraska, Omaha's Teen Center and the Latino Center of the Midlands, and her recent launch of Hiya The Magazine, a digital publication dedicated to teen mental health and empowerment.

Firefly’s I-Smile program is hosting its 18th annual Give Kids a Smile event on Friday, February 7, offering free dental care exclusively for current Firefly clients in need. With 57% of Pottawattamie County children on Iowa Medicaid, access to oral health services is in crisis. Many local dentists cannot afford to accept Medicaid due to low reimbursement rates—just 37% of standard fees, with minimal increases over decades. This forces families to struggle with limited options for vital dental care.

Untreated dental caries, the most common chronic disease in children, leads to pain, infections and significant health and developmental issues. Firefly’s Give Kids a Smile Day event partners with local dentists like Broadway Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, My Pediatric Dentist—Bayliss Park, Valley View Dental and Omni Dental-Council Bluffs to address these gaps.

Families are selected based on need, citing barriers like lack of Medicaid-accepting providers, insurance or transportation. For details or to support this event, contact Liz Addison, I-Smile Coordinator, at (712) 828-4109.

Firefly provides free services to families in western Iowa who are expecting a child or have a child under five years old. Firefly is committed to assisting parents in their roles as their child’s first and most influential teacher by providing many services. To learn more, visit firefly.kids.

Strong Family Connections

The team at Ellie Mental Health-La Vista’s mission is to compassionately transform the culture of mental health care by providing creative solutions that make wellness accessible in every community, no matter the age.

“As a marriage and family therapist, I believe keeping kids healthy and active begins with fostering strong family connections,” says Clinic Director Joseph Suchanic. “When children feel supported and understood at home, it builds a foundation for their overall well-being.”

Ellie Mental Health-La Vista encourages open communication, modeling healthy habits and engaging in activities as a family—like hiking, dancing, playing sports or even simply sharing regular family meals. These are all important for good familial relationships. It’s vital to help kids balance their mental, emotional and physical health by teaching self-care and building resilience. By combining connection, balance and enjoyable activities, families can help kids thrive.

HAPPY HEALTHY SMILES

Dental care for children of all ages

Ellie Mental Health-La Vista’s advice for parents is to prioritize building a strong, connected relationship with your children while honoring their individuality. This means creating a home environment where open communication, empathy and mutual respect are central. It’s important to integrate spirituality and culture into your family’s values and daily life, as these provide a sense of identity, belonging and grounding for children. Whether it’s participating in cultural traditions, engaging in spiritual practices or sharing stories from your family’s history, these elements can be powerful tools for fostering resilience and a deeper sense of purpose. Ultimately, the goal is to create a supportive space where children feel understood, valued and empowered to navigate the world confidently.

Establishing Good Dental Care Routines

Pediatric Dental Specialists (PDS)–Omaha partners with parents to create healthy smiles and positive dental experiences for kids of all ages. Their team is dedicated to providing the exceptional dental care you want for your kids in a warm and friendly environment. Establishing good dental care routines and maintaining a healthy smile significantly impact a child’s overall health and well-being as they grow. They are here to empower you with the knowledge and tools you need to support your child’s oral health.

“We here at Pediatric Dental Specialists believe a child's overall health is very important and we know that can start with their oral health!”

Says Dr. Mary Weber. “We make it a priority to have conversations about diet and healthy eating habits to prevent dental decay, but also options to improve their overall health!”

From the moment your child walks into their office, it is their goal to create a positive experience. At PDS–Omaha, they customize your child’s dental care to their individual needs, supporting them in developing lifelong healthy oral care habits.

It’s also vital to note the importance of behavior modeling: Children are more likely to develop healthy habits when parents lead by example. Engaging in activities like bike riding, walking, eating nutritious meals and brushing teeth together demonstrates the importance of self-care and an active lifestyle. Making these routines a shared family experience encourages children to adopt positive behaviors that promote overall health and well-being for a lifetime.

As we welcome 2025, senior living providers across Omaha are stepping into the new year with a renewed commitment to excellence, innovation, and meaningful connections. Whether it’s creating enriching environments, empowering seniors to maintain independence, or providing personalized care, these organizations are transforming lives and redefining what it means to age with dignity and joy.

differences between independent living, assisted living, and long-term care, as well as the concept of a continuum of care. Independent living is ideal for seniors who are active and self-sufficient but want the convenience of a community that offers social opportunities, maintenance-free living, and optional amenities like meal plans. Assisted living, on the other hand, provides support with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and medication management while promoting independence in a safe and comfortable environment. Long- term care, often referred to as skilled nursing care, is designed for individuals who require round-the- clock medical attention and assistance due to chronic health conditions or significant physical or cognitive challenges.

It’s a new year, which means new possibilities. Every year Brookestone Meadows recaps why they are here and how they can continue to bring purpose to seniors’ lives. A large part of their mission, vision, and values is that their seniors are “Living with Purpose.”

At Brookestone Meadows we encourage our seniors to become a member of their O.W.L.S program, Older Workers in the Lords Service. They pride themselves on conducting their own meetings and creating internal and external initiatives.

“As a Life Enrichment Direct my focus is for them to have a fulfilled and meaningful life while they are with us at Brookestone Meadows,” says Life Enrichment Coordinator Monika Gall. “I tell people around me that we strive to provide purpose of meaning, not just adding years to their lives but focus to how they are living in those years.”

This past year they raised funds to help support Angel Trees in the local community, Open Door Mission, Disabled American Veteran’s, Stephen Center, Lydia House, The Hope Center for Kids, Dreamweaver

Foundation, Cat’s Angels Care, Vetter Foundation and many other nonprofit organizations. The O.W.L.S have most recently created an internal Scholarship program for high school seniors that are employed with Brookestone.

Brookestone Meadows has been a trusted provider for 17 years now. They demonstrate this through the care they provide for each resident or family member who enters through our doors. Our goal is to always provide Dignity In Life and to treat each person as they are the most important person in the world.

Their Life Enrichment team takes pride in meeting every new admit to the community, whether they are here for rehabilitation or for longterm skilled care. It is important for their team to get to know each resident’s personality and their favorite things. Brookestone Meadows offers many different daily activities with the goal of encouraging residents to socialize and have fun by taking part in group activities.

In 2025, Caretech continues to be a beacon of support for seniors, empowering them to live fulfilling and independent lives. With a mission rooted in compassionate care and tailored services, the organization is enhancing its offerings to meet the evolving needs of seniors and their families.

A primary focus for Caretech this year is expanding its specialized care programs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Through rigorous caregiver training and innovative tools, the team is ensuring seniors with memory-related conditions receive personalized attention, maintaining their dignity and enhancing their quality of life. Participation in community events, such as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, further reflects Caretech's commitment to raising awareness and funding for critical research.

To support seniors' health and safety at home, Caretech has implemented a "Safe Home Initiative," which involves home assessments combined with Caretech’s newly developed Aging in Place Guide, to assist family members in assessing the homes of their senior loved ones. This comprehensive guide provides practical tips and recommendations for making home modifications that minimize fall risks and enhance accessibility. By equipping families with these valuable resources, Caretech empowers seniors to remain in the comfort of their homes while ensuring they have a safe and supportive living environment.

Additionally, Caretech is also prioritizing emotional and social wellbeing. This year, the organization launched new companion care programs, fostering meaningful relationships between caregivers and clients. Activities such as outings, hobby engagement and technology support help seniors stay connected with loved ones and their communities.

Finally, Caretech’s partnerships with healthcare providers are stronger than ever. Collaborating with hospitals and clinics, Caretech is streamlining transitions from hospital to home, reducing readmissions, and ensuring seniors receive seamless post-discharge care.

With these initiatives, Caretech is unwavering in its commitment to enriching the lives of seniors, empowering them to live with joy, independence and dignity in 2025.

The common thread among these organizations is their unwavering dedications to ensuring seniors thrive. Whether it’s through personalized care plans, engaging activities, or compassionate hospice services, Omaha's senior living providers are making a difference. If you’re considering options for a loved one or yourself, remember that planning ahead and seeking professional guidance can make all the difference. These local experts are ready to help seniors and their families navigate this important chapter with confidence and peace of mind.
