A large part of your membership is composed of your chapter experience. Each chapter is unique in the types of events, benefits, and opportunities it makes available to its members. International Awards The International Awards for Nursing Excellence recognize achievements in the fields of technology, media, chapter excellence, research, leadership, and practice. International Nurse
Researcher Hall of Fame
Since 2010, the honor society has been inducting nurse researchers who have achieved significant and sustained broad national and/or international recognition for their work and whose research has impacted the profession and the people it serves.
Emerging Nurse Researcher Award In 2015, the Emerging Nurse Researcher Award was created to recognize one member from each global region whose research has impacted the profession and the people it serves.

Purpose The purpose of the international grants program is to provide funding for novice researchers, to assist them in beginning their research trajectories and to help more seasoned researchers strike off in new directions. In the process, Sigma and the Foundation have contributed significantly to many nurse researchers’ professional careers while also contributing to the advancement of nursing science.

In 1934, Sigma established the first fund for nursing research in the United States, and it is now known as the Research Permanent Fund through the Sigma Foundation for Nursing. Since its modest initial award of US $600 in 1936, the organization’s research grant program has continued to grow as scholarly activities and the advancement of nursing science have become more sophisticated and integral to the growth of the nursing profession. Sigma annually awards a variety of international and co-sponsored research grants that cover a range of global health topics.

Participants choose a mentor who provides guidance regarding leadership, career advancement, and service.
Emerging Educational Administrator Institute (EEAI) www.SigmaNursing.org/EEAI The Sigma/Chamberlain University Center for Excellence in Nursing Education Developed for new or aspiring nursing academic administrators, the EEAI combines online courses, two face-to-face workshops, and a leadership project to position participants for administrative success. Each participant works with a mentor and a senior faculty member to facilitate the achievement of his or her administrative career path.
Nurse Educator Mentorship Program www.SigmaNursing.org/NEMP This unique, comprehensive online course helps schools of nursing engage in a systematic process to guide the development of a mentorship program that is evidence-informed and responsive to the needs of faculty members within their specific academic settings. It is designed to enable schools of nursing to develop, implement, evaluate, and sustain a mentorship program that meets their needs and reflects their values, style, and culture.

Through this affiliation, Sigma commits to disseminate information and raise awareness about the purposes and activities of the UN and related issues of global concern.
