WEEK 9 READING: PERPECTIVE AS SYMBOLIC FORM
Question 1: What are Durer’s rules for perspectival projection? (Maximum 100 words) The first rule stipulates that all perpendiculars meet at a central vanishing point, which is drawn from the eye to the picture lane. Second, in whatever direction they lie, have a common vanishing point. If they form a 45 degree angle with the picture plane, then the distance between their vanishing point and the central vanishing point is equal to the distance between the eye and the picture plane. Thirdly, The equal dimentions diminish progressively and that their recession in space allowiing any portion of the picture to be calculable.
Question 2: Describe homogenous space? (Maximum 100 words)
The homogenous space can be identified as the relationship between theobscribed as the relationship between the observable space and mathematics. It is the communication of perseivable points and space into a mathematics form such as orthogonals. These forms have a singular nature in the sense they are representations of subjective locations.

QUAD PERSPECTIVE 1 + 2 Perspective 1 This perspective shows the sadness of the city as the story mentions. This view is on the North East corner of the Old Quad. Only one aisle is shown in order to creat a sense of narrowness. Moreover, this site cannot recieve much sunlight but shown in darkness. Both narrowness and darkness can lead the viewers to feel sad and uncomfortable which relate to the story.
Perspective 2 This perspective shows the happiness of the city as the story mentions. The view is set to the opposite conner of the Old Quad. I set the view facing the conner to create a sense of space. This side shows the brightness and warmness as it recieves the sunlight. All the elements makes people feel happy and free.

PERSPECTIVE SCENE 1 + 2
Perspective 1 The 1st sence describe the dark side of city. I choose a crying kid sits near the post, a broken plate is on the floor. Two merchants are argueing beside a work bench as the story mentions. I put two broken window on the two sides to create a enclosure space. The vault, and the collumns are shown in dirty and old bricks, the floor is also ruined. The whole view looks sorrowful and makes people feel depressive.
Perspective 2 The 2nd view shows the happy side of the city. A kid laughs seeing a dog that jumped to bite a pancake. A painter is drawing a flying bird. A man rides a horse into the quad with a smile. Happiness can bee seen in all the characters’s face The vault and the collumns are made by clean marbels, out side the quad is a beautiful village. The whole sence is rendered by the sunlight and looks warm and peace.

Question 1: IWhat is the difference between autographic and allographic practice? (Maximum 100 words) The main difference between authographic and allographic practices is the role of the author of the work and their ‘contact’ with the work. Autograhic practice is when the art piece is produced with the direct contact with the author. While allographic practice can be produced without the direct contact with the author.
Question 2: Why do architects need new representational techniques? (Maximum 100 words) It is required because contemporary city is a complex network which consists of many different informations interacting to one another, while traditional representations work on stable and fixed subjects. However, in recent days, the city is more complex and the previous forms of represntation are issuficient to completely map out the city in detail.

Mood-light
My final template shows both the isometric perspective and 2 views of my story. Through my notiations I have tried to explain the movement of the characters and the mood in a particular space. The 1st view matches the heavy mood and the 2nd view matches the lighter mood which represent the happiness of the city. There are also more movement notations in the second view to make it vivid. Some viewing and facing of the characters are also added in order to show the relationhship between characters.
