READY TO GET INSPIRED? Based on her inspiring, viral 2018 commencement speech to Barnard College’s graduates in New York City, New York Times bestselling author, two-time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA World Cup champion Abby Wambach delivers her empowering rally cry for women to unleash their individual power, unite with their pack, and emerge victorious together. She is co-founder of Wolfpack Endeavor, which is revolutionizing leadership development for women in the workplace and beyond through her champion mindset, individualized coaching, and team-bound focus.

Abby’s book will teach you these wolfpack rules that will change your life: · Make failure your fuel: Transform failure to wisdom and power. · Lead from the bench: Lead from wherever you are. · Champion each other: Claim each woman’s victory as your own. · Demand the effing ball: Don’t ask permission: take what you’ve earned.

“IT’S TIME FOR WOMEN TO KNOW THE POWER OF THEIR WOLF AND THE STRENGTH OF THEIR PACK.” - Amy Wambach

HEALTHY HABITS FOR BUSY LIVES Brought to you by Cliff Bar SET A GOAL Whether you want to feel more energized, or build healthier habits, it’s important to set your intentions. Have an idea of what you want to do and how you want to get there. Keep it simple and be realistic. PREPARE Taking a portion of your Sunday (or whatever day works best for you) to set yourself up for the week can mean all the difference. Meal prep, but keep it simple. If it’s too overwhelming to make a meal every day try making meals for half of the week. Chop fresh fruit and veggies to easily throw into meals or eat as snacks. Put together wholesome snack options for the week like Cliff bars. BE MINDFUL DURING MEALS Put away the distractions, slow down, and breathe between bites. No matter how stressful things can get at work or in life we have to remember to slow down and be aware of how our bodies feel. It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to get the message from your stomach that you are no longer hungry.

DON’T SKIP MEALS Skipping meals can not only cause your blood sugar to dip low, it can also impact your energy level and ability to focus. Without a steady supply of key nutrients, we get hangry and somehow end up at the nearest fast food drive through. This is where that planning comes into play! EAT MORE VEGGIES Fresh vegetables (and fruit) help keep your digestive system happy and regular, help support health, and give you energy. Greens, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, broccoli are great additions to your scrambled eggs or omelets. Bell peppers, carrots, and cucumbers with hummus make a perfect snack. Get creative with salads, pastas, soups, and wraps – it’s so easy to toss in veggies to these meals (Pinterest is my favorite for inspiration). EAT HEALTHY WHILE EATING OUT Order grilled/baked over fried. Choose a side of fruit or salad over fries. Order dressing/ sauces on the side. Share your main dish – most restaurant’s serving sizes are for 2-3 people. You don’t have to eat everything on your plate, take the extras home.

BULLYING 101 Are you or your classmates experiencing bullying at school? Here are some great tips to help prevent yourself and others from being a victim of bullying. HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR It’s OK to laugh at yourself and not take yourself too seriously. You’re not perfect, nobody is! BE ASSERTIVE Stand up for yourself. Tell the bully to stop in a calm but assertive voice.

FOCUS ON BODY LANGUAGE Use positive body language, stand up straight with your shoulders back. Put your arms up with your palms out and hands open at eye level. Be loud and use the STOP command. LEAVE THE AREA If possible, leave the area for a safer location. Go to where supportive people are: friends, family or other adults can discourage the bully from further aggression. AVOID THE BULLY Don’t be where the bully is. Keep supportive people nearby. Friends, parents, teachers and other adults can discourage the bullying by their presence.

“TREAT THE BULLY AS A FRIEND, EVEN WHEN THEY ARE TREATING YOU LIKE AN ENEMY. IT’S NOT EASY, IN FACT IT’S REALLY HARD, BUT A NEGATIVE RESPONSE WILL VERY LIKELY ESCALATE THE CONFLICT AND MAKE THINGS EVEN WORSE.”

-Heather Mitts

SOCCER SHOOTING TIPS • Observe the goalkeeper’s position. Have they left a gap that you can exploit? • Select the best technique for your shot. A sidefoot shot will have greater accuracy, but an instep (laces) with good follow-through will have greater power • Put your non-kicking foot alongside the ball • Keep your head down and your eyes on the ball when striking • Keep your body over the ball • Make contact with the middle to top half of the ball • Maintain your composure TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR CHANCE OF SCORING: • Shoot wide rather than high. There’s a better chance of getting a deflection that will wrong-foot the goalkeeper • Shoot low. It’s harder for a keeper to reach shots along the ground because it’s further for them to travel. It’s easy for them to jump up and save, but much harder to crouch down and get it • Shoot across the keeper. It’s tougher for them to hold these shots, and means they could divert the ball back into the path of another attacker

Brought to you by Michelle Akers

WHERE ARE THE MOST SHOTS MADE? A recent study did take a look at where scored goals most often went into the net. Here are the results: • Top Left: 8 percent • Top Center: 4 percent • Top Right: 5 percent • Middle Left: 7 percent • Middle Center: 8 percent • Middle Right: 6 percent • Bottom Left: 22 percent • Bottom Center: 21 percent • Bottom Right: 19 percent 62 percent of all goals were scored low. This makes sense because it is very difficult for goalkeepers, especially tall ones, to get down to the ground. 67 percent of goals were scored in the corners versus 33 percent down the middle. If you combine the two statistics and shoot low into the corner, you should have a much greater success rate in scoring goals.

“IF YOU SEE THE GOAL, SHOOT! YOU MISS 100 PERCENT OF THE SHOTS YOU NEVER TAKE.” - Michelle Akers
